| Dramatically tremendous | Re: Shout your happy news to the world!!! Bargain last year in Poundstretcher £7.00, you slot a couple of bits together and stick the cover on it. But you can buy pop up ones, like the tents, that just go be-ding! (technical term, that), and they are up. These I am coveting and may pay up to £10 for one. Anyone, the little one I used last year took about 10 tomato plants and most of the hardening off seeds. (Now, the other half just has to get down to the plot, and de weed. Lots..... I do not do such things, being a laydee, I supervise instead. ) |

For me, today was a big day. I've spent the last few weeks stressing about an event that happened today. At the beginning of the year, I missed a PTA meeting, during which I got 'volunteered' to 'help' organise the school's Easter Egg Hunt. My co-conspirator then suffered a bout of being under the weather, so I ended up organising the bl**dy thing. Now, I can work as hard, or harder, than the rest of the PTA, but make me responsible for the actual event . . . I've had real nightmares, cold sweats, and panics about this over the last 3 weeks. Today though, with lots of support from friends and the rest of the PTA, we arrived on the Tonbridge Castle lawn, put up signs and bunting, sorted out the refreshments, the prizes for the Easter Egg hunt and the Mystery Word competition. I manned the 'Hook-a-Duck' stall, and the 'Guess the no of sweeties in the jar', neither of which had featured in previous Hunts. Upshot of the whole thing, is that within an hour, we managed to raise £771. Still have to take out expenses, but I'm pleased. It was sunny, there were loads of families, the Castle grounds looked great, and everyone seemed to have a great time. Pretty sure I won't be doing it next year though!!!! ![]() ![]() | |

| Mad Mountain Man | Re: Shout your happy news to the world!!! Well done SF. I'm impressed! I, too, would be mortally terrified if something like that was dumped on me. Be careful though, you know the old trick of hubands breaking dishes to get out of the washing up. Well the opposite holds true; now you've done such a sterling job... |
