To be honest it's a rare event for me to be happy doing housework - it's never-ending, and always seems to get in the way of the fun creative stuff that I want to be doing. Still, I do enjoy the sense of satisfaction when it's done - until the kids come home and it looks like I've done nothing!


My garden is full of plump little sparrows, shiny starlings, bobbing robins, and flitting blue tits. Have also seen a thrush this morning at the bird table, a couple of collared doves and the odd magpie. No finches yet though - there's plenty of food for them so I hope to see them soon.

*EDIT* - and I've just seen two goldfinches fly into the garden and hop onto one of the feeders - my lucky day indeed!!

Am also off on holiday to Menorca tomorrow morning. Can't wait - it was only booked last Thursday so it's been a bit of a rush to get everything done in time, and I still haven't actually started packing, although I've sorted most of the stuff out.

Deathpool, I dont know you at all but it seems to me you need a little help putting a positive spin on your present situation (perhaps the reason you decided to post it here) and I would like to offer my services as a Hope Writer in that regard.
Tormenting as it is to have your mind hijacked by unpleasantness, you could always turn it into inspiration. I have heard that sucess is the death of all blues players careers because its difficult to have the blues when things start turning out right. So even if you can not find inspiration in your present situation, you can have the satisfaction of knowing your blues career (whether you have one or not) is not in jeopardy.

Deathpool, women have tended to annoy the heck outa me as well, from time to time, but it's with a heavy heart that I have to confess that I still kinda like 'em. I could get into trouble for saying this, but there are one or two I particularly like and the occasional squawk even becomes strangely tolerable after a while.

I don't know many assassins, but I bet if you went into politics you'd find a few quick enough ready to help you out, btw. Of course, you'd have to be either a dictator that the Americans don't like or one of the nicest people in the world to be sure of getting that coveted canonising bullet.

Having spent the year being let down by builders, one after the other, who clearly thought that in these times of austerity the money they'd get out of me wouldn't put petrol in the Merc for a week (yes, they charged that much), I just ordered the materials for almost literally a tenth of one of the quotes I got and am now looking forward to spending a week or so learning what to do with 'em

Mini-sickness is all right when you can feel a bit sorry for yourself and demand you stay in bed, but when it starts outstaying its welcome, it gets annoying very quickly. So yay for being better!
