Mouse, glad your puppy is better - it's horrible when they're ill. My cat is currently pulling out his fur, and had gone bald over his back. The vet thinks it's stress, but says that pinning down what has stressed a cat out is almost impossible. He's had 'cat valium' which reduced, but didn't stop it, and I'm at a loss! Happy news here is free biscuit-thingies at McDonalds every morning until 11.

Squidgier? They are buttermilk biscuits, worth a dollar but people stand in line for half an hour, and no-one can get coffee refills or anything while it's on, very annoying.
Gee, squidgy is a real word, another day where the vocabulary grows.)

I rather got the idea that the term, biscuit, was used in the US for something akin to our scones.

(Note that I don't find scones unpleasant at all, but a soggy biscuit would be; unless it had been dunked.)

Hah. Got a bit bored at my desk so cracked out the make up as usual...and started making bruises and scabs. Then I tried a proper cut on my hand, with plasticine to make it rise a little and really look cut-like, and my housemate saw it and got really concerned. My injury making abilities are improving! Woo!

(This sounds weird, but it really is cool because I like practicing making this stuff, and am pleased that I can make more fiddly things now!)

Tomorrow morning I go to the post office to collect...Doctor Who season 4 and book one of Y: The Last Man!

And...I had some spare cash last week so immediately ordered season 5 of Doctor Who and that should arrive at the end of the month!

I'm probably going back to bashing myself since my mind makes me. Anyway I don't have any real happy news, but I do have plenty of frustrations and fears.

I'm looking forward to going home this evening. The plan is:

1. See to the cats' needs.
2. Make pizza.
3. Quick tidy of the flat while pizza bakes.
4. Grab a good book.
5. Park myself on the balcony and enjoy pizza, reading and a magnificent view of the city, the mountains and the bay.
6. Watch ep.1 of Doctor Who season 4!!!

During the very early hours of Valentines day and after much grunting and pushing (and some expletives!), Mrs NJ1 delivered a beautiful bouncing (not literaly) baby girl, Katie Louise weighing in at a healthy 7lb 1oz, both mother and baby doing fine
