I've wanted to post this for several days, but my son-in-law has been 'fixing' my laptop - I use that term loosely, btw *sigh* I love my SIL, but he doesn't know that he doesn't know what he thinks he knows. Anyway...

I'm getting a promotion!

My store manager told me the other day that he wants to start training me for a part time front end supervisor.

Okay, so it's just a very small one, but hey, it's progress in the right direction in my quest for a management position. Okay, so it's only retail, not something so noble as teaching or owning my own business, but in this economy, I'm grateful for any and all opportunities.

It doesn't really matter what job it is, as long as you enjoy it and you get paid. Plus as you said it progress in your quest for management position and with your determination I know you will reach your goal.

Thanks Hoops and Rosie. Working for minimum wage has been rough, but I have a job, when so many others do not, and I've worked my butt off to show that I can be dependable in spite of the fact I'm over-qualified. It's nice that my efforts are paying off after only 3 months on the job. Still, I'd give anything to have a job where I get the full benefits package and a decent salary to boot, like I'm accustomed to, but this is fine for now. Besides, it's a lot of fun, even if the work can be mind-numbingly boring at times. I have a blast with the customers and my co-workers.

EDIT: speaking of, my time is up, must be off to shower and catch the bus to get to work! LOL! See y'all later!
