Many years ago, the company for which I worked changed the way it paid expenses. The contact name given was the expenses administrator on our site (in effect, a clerk); fine for detailed questions about dates and the like, but the new scheme had some significant drawbacks, which I (amongst others) wanted to point out. I duly sent my email to the expenses administrator; but I copied it to the Head of Finance, who was ultimately responsible for the changes. A day or so later, the Head of Finance 'phoned me. Let me just say that he had the vocabulary of a Fourth Division (now League Two) football manager, but seemingly a lot less common sense. He set up an irrelevant straw man argument - that he then failed to knock over - and when he realised that he was being less than convincing and couldn't address any of the points I'd made in the email, he resorted to more colourful language in amongst a lot of pathetic rambling. I ended up slamming the 'phone down before I said something that I would regret. So good luck to your CEO in this at least. | |

| Crooked Warden | Re: Shout your happy news to the world!!! Last year we had a sign up saying if anyone has any suggestions to email to a certain address, this was before the new CEO joined up, I sent my email on how to improve things and the reply I got was in the way of "thanks for the suggestions now go away and dont bother us again". I don't think I would have even attempted to email the previous CEO though. More happy news - for me at least I have a day all to my self today, no stressing over uni assignments or house cleaning!! A free day, no tigermonkey, no husband just me!!WHOOPEEE!!! |

| Tonari no Totoro | Re: Shout your happy news to the world!!! A day to yourself, Wy? Why waste it here? ![]() Not too much happy news on my end, except that that electrolyte IV we're giving my cat seems to be doing some beneficial stuff. He even ate a little real food today, not just that gel stuff. |

Finally managed to get back to the student house and get my stuff out of it (with the landlord as well since he had the key and all) and it was all there (I think!) and I finally got some stuff I ordered ages ago (including a book) and I got my nids back and my photoframe thingy and my focusing rails (that package got there 4 days ago and was ordered at the start of summer) and someone in Hong Kong who sent me said parcel has some class and sent pretty stamps -- now I have to hunt out my stampbook (finally something other than the queens head!) and - and - and -- I think I used up my and quota! |

| Re: Shout your happy news to the world!!! I am pregnant. With a baby. We are calling the fetus "Oliver" but haven't decided on permanent baby name for when its born. The baby is due the first week of March, but I need to have an ultrasound to be sure because my last two cycles were in June and February, so that makes it hard to judge. I either got pregnant in May or July. I'm excited and happy! As soon as I get fetus pics I'll scan them in and post them. |
