Exactly as mankind had wanted, the gods had left the world so that their followers would not fight any more. He couldn't decide if it was a good or bad decision, only that the world was a colder place for their leaving.

"Let's get pissed," she said.

"Really pissed," he agreed and they stood and they walked down the street together.

"You know, there's just one thing I still don't understand ...." she was saying as the last dying rays of sun dwindled and died over the mountainous horizon.
