Re: April's Astonishing, Astounding (and Sometimes Overpowering) Adventures in Readin

Im reading The Drowning Pool from 1950 by Ross Macdonald.

This line from the book was so well put, creative and funny that it cracked me up

"Her breasts were pointed like a dilemma "

Just finished Stick a great read by Elmore Leonard.

dipping into Clarke's The Other Side of the Sky.
just reading a short story or two each day.
I'm hoping to find my History of the Runestaff and Chronicles of Castle Brass (both by Moorcock) as I really want to read those again, but haven't seen them since we moved a few years ago

Off work sick at the moment, and not doing much apart from reading and sleeping....

In the last three days:
  • Ringworld - Larry Niven
  • Flight of the Dragonfly - Robert Forward
  • Moving Pictures - Terry Pratchett
  • Triplanetary - E.E. "Doc" Smith
  • Space Cadet - RAH

All good "comfort" reading....

Thank goodness for that, Teresa...given that Reading is a large town near London, I thought it might be a rather racy novel about an innocent country girl and her fall from grace....

Having an interesting time reading Pratchett's Interesting Times.
Also finished Harlan Coben's Just One Look in a flash - once in a while you crave fastfood and the thing with fastfood is that it's tasty you can't help but to gulp down!

That's in my TBR pile, Mo...can you give me a nod (when you've finished it) whether it should be promoted or sunk?
