| Re: If there was a movie? Not sure who I would suggest for Belgarath - nobody seems to really fit the bill. I agree that Angelina Jolie might be good as Polgara, and I quite like the idea of Johnny Depp as Silk. And I would love to see Alan Rickman in there somewhere too! ![]() |

| Re: If there was a movie? I just cannot imagine Danny De Vito playing any of the characters I'm afraid. As soon as I see him I think of Taxi and the movie where he was the twin brother of Arnold Swartcheneger (?sp). ![]() Not being able to watch many movies I am afraid I cannot suggest an alternative actor. ![]() |

| Re: If there was a movie? Ok. I gotta post before I forget my people that I'm thinking of. How about this... Belgarath: Ian McKellan Polgara: Angalina Jolie or Lucy Lawless Garion (Young): Hmm... I'm kinda seeing Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan)from Harry Potter, but he's porbably a little too old, now... Or Spencer Treat Clark... He might be too old now, too, but I dunno... Garion (Old): I agree with the person that said Heath Ledger. I think he'd portray Garion rather well. Ce'Nedra (Young): Bonnie Wright, maybe? (Ginny Weasley) Yes, she may not seem the type in HP, but I think she could pull it off. Ce'Nedra (Old): Julianne Moore, maybe? Or Geraldine Somerville (Lily Potter). Silk: Perfect idea having David Spade! God, he would be wonderful! Barak: I'm kinda thinking Robbie Coltrane from HP (Hagrid). Barak needs to be big and bear like, and Robbie did wonderfully when playing Hagrid. Durnik: Now that's a hard one... I could probably see Huge Jackman playing him, but I agree that maybe he's just a bit too young. I don't see Durnik too young, but not too old either... Beldin: I can see John Rhys Davis playing him. He would be a good character. Poledra: I can see Sigourney Weaver playing her. She's pretty good age, and she's a wonderful actress. Salmissra: I'll agree with Salma Hayek. She's pretty good, and would probably pull it off rather well. Either that, or we can dress Alan Rickman in a dress. *lol* Asharak: I could see Joaquin Phoenix playing him. He can be an ass when he needs to be, like in Gladiator. Either that, or, maybe, James Purefoy or Eric Mabius... Mandorallen: Possibly Bruce Willis or Mel Gibson. Both could pull it off, and are more or less built to the character. Hettar: I think I could see Orlando Bloom playing this one. He's dark shinned with black hair... Or Jonny Depp, maybe. Lelldorin: Possibly one of the Phelps twins (Weasley twins). They're tall and skinny, and are very childish. |

| Re: If there was a movie? AZDMIN16 all your choices are great except for Garion I think it would be good to cast an unknown and i think the women who played Lily Potter would be better as Poledra, shes got that maternal feel and is really pretty. But I also think that Angelina Jolie would do very well as Salmissra, shes very mysterious and seems like someone who could seduce anyone and have a god fall in love with her. By the way, HOW COULD EVERYONE FOR GET ABOUT ERRAND?!?!? This is who I have as him Errand-The kid who played Sam Parretta in The Forgotten, he had a really innocent feel about him and yet at the same time there was always something very mysterious about him, I think he could pull it off. |

| Re: If there was a movie? by the way, the only way to get this movie to live up to peoples expectations is to get a good director, Peter Jackson anyone, maybe the guy who directed the second HP film, or the third it was really dark which would be good 'cause all this first book is really about is tearing Garions whole world down around his ears.

| Re: If there was a movie? Lucy Lawless would be a good Polgara, because she is beautiful and a very good actress. She also looks old and mature enough to be Polgara (that's not to say that she's old looking, because she's far from it). The idea for Angelina Jolie was also good, so I'm sort of torn in two... maybe Angelina would be a better Taiba? Maybe? Oh, and while we're on the subject, what about Relg? Who would portray him best? I fell in love with having Viggo Mortensen as Durnik, but do you think he might also be able to play Silk? Even Belgarath might not be too out of his league (in the Lord of the Rings movies you get a glimpse of him old looking, and the beard and such works well for him). He should definitely be put in here somewhere, though. Ian McKellen. Good Aldur? UL? I think he should be considered for something holy like that. Orlando Bloom for Lelldorin, Tom Welling for Mandorallen, and Keanu Reeves for Hettar (remember, Hettar isn't very expressive, so Keanu would be perfect, I think). |

| Re: If there was a movie? Alan Rickman as Torak... he plays a great villan (robin hood prince of theives, anyone?) I'm for Ian Mckellen as Ul, or maybe as Gorim Brian Blessed (is he still alive?) as Cherek Dakota Fanning as zubrette (with dark hair though) I do hope everyone mentioning Orlando blume is joking. watching him massacre Garion would be a truly heart-renching experiance. |

i'd do a series, but i dont think film studios would let you do a quintette, probrably only a trilogy(very popular thses days)... so where would you put the 'breaks' inbetween films to give a good begginning, middle + end to each film? It would be great to do just one big fat epic film, but WAYYYYY too long... unless you put an interval in there somewhere. | |

| Re: If there was a movie? I think they could do a quintette. Harry Potter is proof of that, right? How many movies are there going to be? Seven or something? I dunno. If they ever do make a movie, though, I hope they don't butcher it. (fingers crossed) |
