Re: If there was a movie? In what style, Myst? Do you mean like the Wallace and Gromit films? I'm not sure I could take them seriously like that... I'm trying to think of another movie/series with claymation that doesn't look as though it was aimed at a younger audience. Still, if it could start a whole new style, then I wouldn't be averse to it, as long as it looked ok. Being someone who watches anime, I could suggest a fully animated version, but not everyone likes anime/animation, and there are always the minority who think that animation is solely for kids. ![]()

Re: If there was a movie? it cost $297million to make LOTR trilogy... surely it would come in under that for CG! Also, I was wondering, how would they depict the Will and the Word on screen, live or CG? I imagined it, and came up with Garion looking like he was trying a silent-but-deadly... oooerr.

Re: If there was a movie? I'm not sure how they would portray the Will and the Word on screen. Hopefully, they'd keep it fairly faithful to the books and only use special effects when they had to, not all the time - for example, with Garion and the colt, or the creation of Adara's rose. It's meant to be something subtle at times and showy at others, so with any luck they'd get it right.

Re: If there was a movie? I don't see why not. He's a good actor I've been trying to think which role he could play. One of the Alorn Kings, perhaps? I'll have to keep thinking on that one![]()

Re: If there was a movie? I hadn't thought of Yarblek. *muses* Yes, I think he could play the role. He seems versatile, even though I haven't seen him in anything but serious roles recently. I suppose it would be too easy to cast someone used to playing comedic characters as Yarblek, so it might be interesting to see. ![]()

Re: If there was a movie? You can't actually be serious about liking the idea of making a movie of the Belgariad, are you!? Any time Hollywood gets their hands on something amazing, they screw it up. Look at Lord of the Rings. They took out someone who was almost 25% of the first book, Tom Bombadil! And then they added the love intrest of Arwen, who was only spoken of once durring the Coucil at Rivendel, and not actually seen until her wedding at the end of Return of the King. They also took out the Scouring of the Shire! The Hobbits were not hailed as heros, the shire didn't really care one way or the other if they returned. But after saving them from Saruman, only then were they thought of as heros. Any good fantasy, such as the Belgariad and Mallorean aught to stay just as they are, books. They'd probaby even pull out a necessisary character like they did in Harry Potter. Peeves played a great, yet played down, roll in each book. Perhaps they would forget someone from the Prophecy such as Taiba? Or would they pull out the great words of Silk, "Does bouncing count?" from Magician's Gambit? No, dear friends, it would be a bad idea for Hollywood to get their hands on this amazing adventure.

Re: If there was a movie? listen friend we are just speculating as it is most people i talk to are like "Belgariad? what movie is that?" i dont think they will make a movie anytime soon but its fun to think about if they did...as for LoTR the love interest opened the whole relationship with Arwen and Aragorn up cuz im like at the end of RoTK "Whos marrying Aragorn?" i had to read the series over again.Tom Bombadil was a key charactor yes but perhaps they didnt have the proper budget for the charactor? as for the shire, again its the principle of $$$ so i wouldnt look into it too much. I wouldnt know about harry potter though cuz to be perfectly honest i dont like the books or the movies. but can i ask you a question? do you ever do anything just for fun? if yes then this is what we are doing here . does some one shoot your dreams down like a WW2 fighter plane cuz they dont like your idea? if yes....im sorry if no what right do you have to crush our just for fun dreams? as for the belgariad again they probably wont make a movie anytime soon but if they do make one im sure that Mr. Eddings will have a few things to say about it because well.. its his story. Sorry if im a bit blunt but i dont like it when someone tells me i cant do something
