New Star Wars Film

Just saw a news item about George Lucas' latest endeavor. An animated feature film set between Episode II & III. All about the Clone Wars. Due to be released in August. See link:

Yahoo! Movies: Movie News -

Wonder if it will be worth seeing or just more wretched excess.

It sounds interesting although

The movie introduces a female Jedi, Ahsoki, who is Anakin's young apprentice.
One screw up already.

yah I have heard about this -- been trying to find my how-to-do voodoo book!
There is also a live action production in the works as well I think -- all in all our once wonderful starwars is being commercialised by George!

I don't know...the Clone Wars animated series is generally regarded as pretty good, if not canon yet...

That's the thing though, Tanga - the horse, far from being moribund, is frisking around in the paddock, kicking its heels up.

The thing is, that there appears to be an insatiable demand for more and more "Star Wars" related stuff, and where there is a demand, there must also be a supply, viz all the books, comics, animations, etc. And as each new generation comes to the films, they also want more and more as well.

I don't personally read or watch any of them, but the fact of their existence doesn't spoil my enjoyment of the original films one whit.

(*raises hand*I'm a nerd as well!)

Most of all Anakin shouldn't be allowed an apprentice. He can't obey the instoctions of the Council, and is turning to the dark side!

Re: New Star Wars Film

Considering that Anakin was made a Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars and before Episode III, there is no reason why he couldn't have a padawan. Assuming that the Clone Wars animated movie is set in the later part of the conflict.

Animations look amazing.

And you could surprise yourself and going in without looking for reasons to dislike it or analysing every frame looking for a plot hole, you might like it.

He is made a Knight not much before the third movie and he wouldn't have been given a Padawan so soon after Knighthood was given. They wait a little (exception of Obi Wan)
