Duma Key Discussion SPOILERS

after digesting this book for a couple of days

two things

1) I didn't see why King had to kill off Wireman. I really liked him and thought that he deserved better

2) what happened to all of the paintings? Did they lose their power after Perse was bottled?

any other thoughts??

Re: Duma Key Discussion SPOILERS

Darn...I still have one hundred pages left, and silly me looked in this thread despite the SPOILERS warning...

Ah, well, I guessed that Wireman was going to die. I think it was suggested in the way that Edgar, throughout the book (and especially in the first hundred pages or so) keeps commenting "this was another of Wireman's phrases) etc. I don't know why, but it kind of gives the feeling that he wasn't still around at the time of writing.

I'm a little ambiguous about this book and I can't quite articulate why -- mayhap I'll be able to once I finish the book and have a ponder about it...

well geez hoop

sorry to spoil it for you

it wasn't so much that Wireman died

it was the kind of casual afterthought way in which King did it that bothered me

Re: Duma Key Discussion SPOILERS

Heh, don't worry, it's my own silly fault. I see SPOILERS yet end up looking anyway And as I said, I thought he would probably die. Although I don't know how he does yet, so it's not a complete loss!
