Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? I would pick Athera, but after the return of the Paravians, and when it is finally free of Desh-Thiere and the town-clan conflict. The idea of a world in balance, without sickness, appeals to me.

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? fantasy...... might go for world of Belgariad, or Elenium. Sci-Fi, Ringworld. maybe even the Smoke ring...... yeah, would love to kick around Pern, would HAVE to be after thread. getting kicked out of holds is not so much of a problem, and dragons much as I'd love to BE a dragonrider, the numbers are WAY against it. so visit a few places and see how things go. just seems like there are too many worlds out there that are DEADLY to the people who didn't arrive there as a matter of plot.

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? Fantasy: Rigante world from Gemmell's Rigante series. SF: The world of Bester's The Stars My Destination. Something so free about jaunting where ever you want. World i wouldnt want to live is in any PKD dystopian world, they always depress me in the end .

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? Anne McCaffrey's Talent universe, preferably as a moderate Talent. I wouldn't want to have the responsibility of a Prime, but I would love to have some of the perks of Talent. I'm too attached to my mod cons to give them up easily. At the very least it would have to be a society with relative equality between the sexes. For a low-tech society, my best alternative would be the world of Elizabeth A. Lynn's Chronicles of Tornor.

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? Hogwarts would be great - maybe not Hogwarts itself, bit old for that and too many screaming children, but being in the modern world when you like, and having magical powers and being part of the cool wizarding world...The Galactic Milieu would be excellent if you had the cool mental powers thing going, but so far I still can't get that paperclip to move...The Discworld, brilliant to visit, but I don't know if I'd want to live there unless I could be the Librarian. The Shire is tempting. But in the end, I'm going for the Culture, where anyone can be anything, including (but not limited to) their boring old selves!

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? I don't know about living in J.K Rowling's world, but Hogwarts would be a pretty cool school. I can just see kids turning up for maths late with the excuse 'Sorry, the staircase accidentally took me to the wrong classroom...' or 'Sorry, Peeves ate my homework!'

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? I don't think they have any yet. We could introduce them and be rich. Either that or be rejected because owls are more fluffy than email...

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? I would be torn between 3, the Dune universe( spice, you live longer), Discworld(soooo funny) and Narnia(soooo cute, talking animals) ![]()

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? I'm another that would have to go for Banks's Culture, if not that then Hamilton's Commonwealth (whilst not at war). A fantasy world is harder, they're usually quite nasty and lack plumbing.

Re: In which Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy world would you choose to live? Fantasy; Discworld, I think, but not Ankh Morpork. Perhaps Quirm. Science fiction? Anywhere in Varley's post invasion solar system, probably the moon (as having more opportunities fot my specialities)
