Great book, though I was a bit sad when Kelewan was destroyed.

No more Cho'ja..

Talwin was mentioned to have left the conclave like Kasper.

Woops, sorry about the spelling in my previous post! Its supposed to be 'Talwin wasn't in it'. I read that Talwin was still part of the Conclave, but only if they called upon him for some dire need. And wasn't the Conclave a lifetime oath?

Nakor wasn't as upset as I thought I would have been. A couple of gripes with this book. Wasn't impressed with Jimmy. He could never take the place of the real Jimmy. Was impressed with the destruction of Kelwan, although upset over the Cho ja.

I think Ray is missing the real Jimmy quite a lot. It was quite obvious to me that Jimmy was his favourite character throughout the Riftwar and the Serpentwar and I think he just tried too hard to substitute him into another character.

"Apart from the mistakes it was a good book. Isn't the next series called the Gods War?"

It is called the Demonwar and will probably have some thing to do with the 5th circle of reality

Re: Wrath of a Mad God- Spoilers May Be Included

I believe that the final (5th) Rift war was originally going to be called the Godswar (following the Demonwar), but I have heard (possibly on Ray's site) that it is now going to be called the Chaoswar.

The next Riftwar will be the Demonwar, and going by name it should hopefully have something to do with the Demons of the 5th Circle. Perhaps Maarg is after revenge for the injuries Macros gave him?

Dayum, Nakor should have his own trilogy, preferably 1000 pages per book.

Nakor, ever since we first met him in Prince of the Blood I've wanted more. I want to know his orgiins, his marriage to Miranda's mother, his life as a gambler a trickster.

Re: Wrath of a Mad God- Spoilers May Be Included

I was a bit supprised that Nakor died the way he did, not a very emotional send off for such a well loved character also Eric Von Darkmoor's death was a bit weak, we should have watched his heroic death through the eyes of say Kasper, not just see him walk off towards the front with sword in hand.
What was the point of the 'Quor', so they're beautiful looking things and Miranda decided she would die protecting them, but this took up a good half of the book and just seemed pointless. If the survival of the Quor is paramount to the next riftwar, then a small part at the end of this book would have been enough to bridge the next book to this one.
Overall It was an OK read, we all know Fiest can do better, but has he started to run out of ideas? Let's hope the next book is better.
