Trojan horse alert, be careful when using MSN messenger! - Science Fiction Fantasy Chronicles: forums

I got this on my machine yesterday and its a bugger to get rid of. Basically someone I know sent me a message via msn thinking it was sonething I'd posted.. It as a link to something in my profile supposedly, the person, a friend of mine, said is this you? (link) so I clicked on the link and it opened a DOS application that seemingly does nothing. But it intereferes with the running of Live messenger and who knows what else it does. I just did a scan with AVG and it found it and deleterd it.
Its called live.messenger.com or PIC0016.live.messenger, so if someone sends this dont open it unless you have anti virus.

Oh I've been getting that too. The first time I clicked on it my anti virus blocked it.

I got something like that, but it was a picture send as a .zip file, and a message was sent after it saying 'Do you think I look ugly in this pic?'
The person that unknowingly sent it to me doesn't even have a virus scanner.

Thank you for the warning AE.

So far I haven't had a bad link, although I sometimes wish that friends wouldn't keep changing their 'username'.

Just remember their emails. It makes life so much easier.
