Character Naming chain I thought of an idea for those of us who have ideas for characters but need names for them. It's pretty much a reverse of the Character creation chain. I'll start... He was the type of person who had friends everywhere. Unfortunately for him some of them didn't like that. He wasn't bothered by that. Though sometimes it worried him a little. He was tall and tan not in terribly good or bad shape. He was a dreamer, he always dreamed of having adventures or what everyone thought of as adventures. He also was never afraid of get his hand dirty or testing his strength.

Re: Character Naming chain It seems that somebody has misunderstood the principle. Never mind, I'll cheat, and add another description. He is a dragon, antisocial and territorial as all his race. Normally, the mere existence of another dragon within a league would drive him into dracocidal fury, and an armed human only mildly less so. So what is he doing with this female, with whom normally he would have mated then forgotten, and their six month old daughter who just happens to be the most beautiful thing in the world? (His human name please. My keyboard doesn't handle dragon phonetics)

Re: Character Naming chain Shardian Redclaw (I hope I've got the gist of this )No-one ever expected her to amount to much, being rather petite and bookish, not to mention as self-effacing as they come. She practically lived in the castle library, making sure that all of the books were put back on the shelves properly and in order, and loving the quiet moments when she could sit with a book and read. However, when she found a particular book that seemed to have come from nowhere, she suddenly found herself at the centre of a lot of attention - good and bad.

Re: Character Naming chain Tia Eslayle All that anybody knew about him was that he had come from the mountains. Tall and broad-shouldered, his arms scarred long ago by the jaws of some tremendous beast, a faint limp marring his lengthy stride, he was often seen walking through the market square, staring coldly at stallholders until they shivered and turned away in fear. He carried no weapon; some men whispered - not within his hearing - that he killed wolves with his bare hands.

Re: Character Naming chain Aleman Roke Respected by everyone and loved by most. He was tall, broad shouldered, and fairly handsome. He carried a sword the length of which most normal men match in height. He also carried a staff. This was no ordinary staff this was a staff of the order of knight mages. He had a demeanor that commanded respect and truth from the lips of anyone who talked to him.

Re: Character Naming chain Sir Gideon Tallbrand He was a crafty and cunning youth with an insolent yet charming face. He left his dark brown hair loose and without style down to his shoulders and although he was somewhat unremarkable in general appearance there was something about him that drew your eye. Slender and lithe where his fellow knights were large and muscular, he moved with grace in the courtyard while they charged around like young bulls.

Re: Character Naming chain Fiovar Farisi More than a shadow, but less than a human, he waits for his next target. Very few have survived to see his face, but those who did tell of an narrow face set with soulless eyes, which haunts their dreams for years to come.

Re: Character Naming chain AKA Nick Hogg Before that night and THAT party she was slowly sliding into the slightly plump shape her bank clerk job had been leading her to for years. Four years later and crouching on the roof of Canary Wharf in the dark, her only thoughts now were wind direction, velocity, and how she could stop the optic's in her telescopic sight from fogging up.

Re: Character Naming chain Sally Nightingale Unusually for a faerie, he adopted human forms of dress. Nearly seven feet tall and thin as a very thin rake which has been on a diet and which might be anorexic, he wore old and battered Victorian clothes - a stove-pipe topper, baggy, pin-striped trousers, heavy black brogues and a long overcoat. The overcoat was particularly frayed by years of an itinerant life and was covered in brightly coloured patches. The friend of the ladies and gentlemen of the night, he would stalk the streets of the great cities - London, Glasgow, Bradford and Portsmouth - keeping the prostitutes safe from harm and, more often than not, from their pimps. Those who offended his view of decent manners could expect to have his name written across their decapitated bodies with an eight inch stiletto knife.

Re: Character Naming chain Edward Wallace At 285 years old, he was still techncially a young elf, but ancient to the humans in the town nearest the border of his nation's grand sylvan homeland. Having completed his 20 year 'bootcamp', the raven haired, sapphire eyed, cream skinned, 7 foot tall, slim but well muscled elven ranger spent a 5 year campaign in a war and earned himself a proper elven runebow, albiet the weakest one imagineable, it puts human craftsmanship to shame, but brands him, to the educated eye, a mere rank and file soldier. However, using the naievetie of the farming folk in the towns he visits during his leave time, has established the unconfirmed assumption that he is some form of elvish noble, and he's like to keep it that way, as they're the only society he gets to play high and mighty around.

Re: Character Naming chain Cleveland Arcadius Crawford, Alpha, Beta, & Gamma At times people thought he was identical triplets, but he was one person. One person who just happend to have three, quasi-independent bodies that where run by one mind. People would still get confused, so he had given each of his three bodies a designation. A first, they were A,B, & C, but then he got older, they went by the first three letters of the Greek alphabet. He was one of those people who could, and probably had, passed time time with the Devil. This attitude helped him in the running of he many businesses. That he worked, but didn't have to endeared him to many of the citizens of Danner, which was more commonly called "Orphan Town". He was a male of typical American bearing and upbringing, or he would have been if the world hadn't gone sideways before he was born. His hair was an odd shade of brown, and his eyes where that particular shade of hazel that looked like a jewel in bright light.

Re: Character Naming chain winter lord, this isn't a 'make your own character' chain. this is naming a character described in the previous post, then posting a description of a character you need named.

Re: Character Naming chain Lentero Breathspike is the answer you're looking for. Red-faced and rotund, he puffed his way along the high walls of Gallairca, his velvet robes of office faded by the searing heat of the sun. Ostentatious but cheaply made jewellry jangled around his neck and wrists, and he was mightily aware that the thick, dragonskin-bound book under his arm was worth much, much more than he, a mere clerk to the Crown Prince of the Diamond Seas, could ever aspire to be.

Re: Character Naming chain Bertrold Thurlock highly opinionated and sometimes right. prematurely grey giving an impression of maturity but with a boyish sense of humour. his huge frame generously padded but not too much.
