Too bad the guverrmint doesn't value praise from peers either. Or landlords. Or utility companies. It's like a conspiracy, I tell you!

.....It is indeed sad when people can't act like grown-ups.Whenever a group of people congregate- for whatever legitimate purpose; there's always some small, but dedicated cadre trying to mess it up.

Internet is strange like that. People say and do things they normally wouldn't. I guess it is the lack of personalable face time involved in forum chatting that makes one feel they can say and do anything without any serious consequences.

Yes, such as having their nose broken, for instance? This reminds me of a quote from Robert E. Howard's "The Tower of the Elephant" that I've always quite liked:

Quote:
Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.

Yeah. I've never gotten that about people. I just don't understand the psychology behind having to be the jerk who is rude or crude or just stupid. Maybe it's a way of getting attention, but I'm sure I don't know why anyone would want to get attention that way.

Desperation, among other things, and a show of being tough with a tough bark. It usually doesn't work that way, though, and eventually such people find themselves dead or in a hospital. It's pretty sad, but it does happen. As Dean Koontz said in Odd Thomas: Humanity's most identifiable trait is our ability to be inhumane to one another.

Ever get people look at you weird when you "lol" in real life for no reason. You're just stting at the computer and then out of no where there's a laugh.

MG1962 ? Moderatorship is voluntary, they do it because they care. Ours actually care enough to do the job.

Good job moderators, as always.

PS: Anyone here ever said "El Oh El" (LOL) outloud instead of just laughing?

I uh...have never done that...uh, yeah thats my story, but I'd imagine that you get some really weird looks from your family.

Re: On Inappropriate PMs

'Powned'? Sounds like slang for postponed. 'You going to that concert Monday night?' 'Didn't you here? It was 'poned!'

Yeah, I go for 'pawned' too...

EDIT: Sorry, off topic. This should get us back: Man, did we really pwn those innappropriate PMs...
