| Another Attempt at a Moorcock Bibliography I sometimes think a person's got to be just a little nuts to attempt this. Nevertheless, I've given it a go. This will have to be in several installments, and I'm splitting it up into Chronological, Series, and Omnibus Editions, for easier reference. I have no doubt that I've overlooked some things, but this includes all I'm aware of, culling from several source: Sweet Despise site, isfdb, fantastic fiction, Richard Bilyeu's The Tanelorn Archives bibliography, and my own not inconsiderable collection of Moorcock's work. I have not attempted to include all printings, etc., but only those which are especially notable or containing revisions, etc. Any omissions, please let me know, and (with Brian's permission) I'll insert them into the list.... First, of course: CHRONOLOGICAL 1962-1979 1962 Caribbean Crisis (Sexton Blake Library; as by Desmond Reid) 1963 The Stealer of Souls (contains: "The Dreaming City", "While the Gods Laugh", "The Stealer of Souls", "Kings in Darkness", and "The Flame Bringers") 1965 Stormbringer (novel -- abridged from "Dead God's Homecoming", "Black Sword's Brothers", "Sad Giant's Shield", and "Doomed Lord's Passing") The Sundered Worlds (The Blood Red Game) The Fireclown (The Winds of Limbo) Warriors of Mars (The City of the Beast) Blades of Mars (The Lord of the Spiders) Barbarians of Mars (Masters of the Pit) The Best of New Worlds (ed.) 1966 The Deep Fix (containing: "The Deep Fix", "Peace on Earth", "The Lovebeast", "The Pleasure Garden of Felipe Sagittarius", "The Real Life Mr. Newman", and "Wolf"; as by James Colvin) The LSD Dossier (as by Roger Harris) Somewhere in the Night (as as by Bill Barclay) Printer's Devil (as Bill Barclay) The Twilight Man (The Shores of Death) SF Reprise 1 (ed.; reissue of New Worlds issues 144 and 145) SF Reprise 2 (ed.; reissue of New Worlds issues 146 and 147) SF Reprise 3 (ed.; reissue of Science Fantasy issues 67-69) SF Reprise 4 (ed.; reissue of Science Fantasy issues 70-71) SF Reprise 5 (ed.; reissue of New Worlds issues 149-151) 1967 The Wrecks of Time (The Rituals of Infinity) Best S.F. Nice to be able to do that for a writer whose work has given you so much.... Quote:
Oh, and one I forgot to include in the Elric series: the recent publication of the entire graphic novel Elric: The Making of a Sorcerer; now duly added.... | ||

| Re: Another Attempt at a Moorcock Bibliography I have had my copy for years and a spare one to boot if you would like to replace yours. I have most of MM books on the list except the Pyat ones which I was never keen on and the 3 mars or warrior ones read them but did not keep them and White Wolf's Son which I may be able to get at Eastercon next month in the dealers room. Did you ever get the Lovecraft one from the BFS. |

| Re: Another Attempt at a Moorcock Bibliography I suppose that, while I'm at it, I might as well note the two issues of Marvel's Conan the Barbarian comic (issues 14 & 15), which were plotted by Moorcock and Cawthorn, and brought Conan and Elric together: "A Sword Called Stormbringer!" (#14) "The Green Empress of Melniboné (#15) which (more-or-less) fall between Sailor on the Seas of Fate and "The Dreaming City".... |

| Re: Another Attempt at a Moorcock Bibliography Well, it seems the information I had on the forthcoming Elric book is slightly off. There will be a six-volume set, apparently, and it does contain previously uncollected material (and possibly some new material)... but not necessarily in this volume. It looks as if it's going to be done the way the Howard volumes were done, so they'll be critical editions, lavishly illustrated, and with authoritative texts. They will also be publishing the stories in the original order of publication, rather than in the chronological order of the series. I'll definitely be getting them, and I'd suggest getting them to anyone seriously interested in Moorcock's work....
