Gaiman to make one of his books available for free online.

Apparently, Gaiman's publisher has given their permission for him to make one of his books available for free online. It looks like it's up to his fans to determine which of his books that is.

You can vote for your choice here:

Excellent! What did you vote for?

I voted for NEVERWHERE (because I haven't read it, yet)

I voted M is for Magic as well, but most people voted for American Gods. I suspect that is the one that everyone has already read (since it is one of the most famous of his works), which makes me wonder why they wouldn't vote for one which they haven't read

I went for Stardust... it's a nice introduction to his works and to fantasy as a genre!

I voted for Stardust. It's a good place to start and it's usually what I give to friends I'd like to introduce to Neil's work. It has not failed thus far.

You are right, Nesacat. It's the best place to start.

Another reason why i love neil - such a nice thing to do!!

I was torn between neverwhere and american gods. Eventually went for neverwhere, as if anyone had not read a Gaiman book that is the one I would recommend.

Such a nice thing to do!!

The book chosen was american gods. Gaiman is encouraging the link to be spread

Feel free to spread the link as widely as possible around the web. If it works, and people read it, then a) we may be able to put up another book and b) sooner or later they'll simply let us give away the book in electronic form....
so if you haven't read this fantastic book then please do!
