Re: Boba Fett

That is true, but we've seen what happens when George wants to squeeze out more cash from the fans regardless of the damage it does to Star Wars (*cough*phantommenace*cough*)

Re: Boba Fett

I just realised another thing about Fett that will help convince you.

Clones are meant to take orders from everyone. How many bounties do you think would say release me? He would be forced to do so.

Re: Boba Fett

Majimaune,
Boba Fett (ever since the release of Attack of the Clones ret-conned him) is an unaltered clone of Jango Fett.
This means that he was a perfect duplication of Jango's genetic material, with none of the tampering that the Kaminoans used to rapidly age, increase intelligence, make more controllable, etc.
Secondly, the clones (that formed the Grand Army of the Republic) were programmed to take orders from certain individuals and organisations (there Jedi Generals and Commanders, the already established Military Command of the (small) standing forces of the Republic (generally made up from the planetary forces of the constituent member states of the republic), the Mandalorians who were hired to train them, the Kaminoans that created them, and obviously Supreme Chancellor Palpatine).
No clone would need to take orders from any ordinary civilian, let alone a criminal/target with a bounty on its head.

This was the main part of your post that stood out. What Mandalors? They were meant to be long dead.

Re: Boba Fett

Mando'ade were scattered, not extinct. You can read the Republic Commando series by Karen Traviss, or any of the more recent Legacy of the Force series, to learn more about the Mandalorians.
At the time that he was recruited to be the genetic template for the Grand Army of the Republic, Jango Fett was Mandalor.
Hence many Mando warriors flocked to his call to come train the Clones.

Re: Boba Fett

I'll take your word for that stuff but still no denying his name. Read the Han Solo Trilogy (before he joins the Rebelion) I think its in there anyway. Or another book that has Fett in it that is an older one.

Re: Boba Fett

Are you talking about the story (in Tales of the Empire, I think it was) where it had a younger Fett (under a different name (possibly assumed)) as a Protector, with him exiled because he killed a workmate?

Re: Boba Fett

Nope. What I'm talking about is it kinda goes insde his head and he remembers his younger days of growing up and how he had changed his name and all that sort of thing.

Re: Boba Fett

I don't recall which book that particular section was in.
If so there seems to be a continuity error introduced with the release of Attack of the Clones.
As in such cases the movies have higher canonical ratings, the section you are referring to is now the 'wrong' version (and likely ret-conned out).
It is a shame.

Re: Boba Fett

A shame because the books are so much better.
