How old will you be when the last ASOIAF novel comes out?

Im 22 and a recent graduate. i expect i'd be 31 with a wife and a mortgage when "A Dream of Spring" comes out.

how old will you be? where will you be? Do you think we'd love ASOIAF as much as we do now?

Ok between Storm of Swords and Feast of Crows 3-4 years, and so far about 5-6 years for Dance, so we add two years between each book. He is aiming for 7 books i think there will be 8.
So thats four books more.
So about 24 Years, so ill be 54 years when last book comes out

If you told me when I was at school reading Eye of the World that I'd be 40 before the last book got published, I wouldn't have believed you.
Do I still care about WOT? yes, but not as much as I used to. Will I still care about ASOIAF when the last book is published? Yes.

But more importantly:

Would I rather wait ten, twenty years for a quality ending, or have something substandard hitting bookstores tomorrow? I can wait.

Amen Orange. Quality is key and GRRM can take all the time he wants. I will always adore this series and I have enough other things to occupy myself with and other books to read in between.

Oh, to be a recent graduate of 22 again...I would not lament the fact of being 31 and living the middle-class dream of a wife, kids and a mortgage. I'm there and passing it fast.

How come I keep getting older and still no new book!! The Giants pulled off a victory against startling odds, come on George you can finish Dance against the same such odds. Based on the ratio of 3 years each for ADWD (not sure where the six-year thing came from; AFFC came out in October 2005), TWoW and ADoS, the final book will come out in late 2014 or early 2015, making me 35 or 36 at the time.

I have the first four books sitting unread on my shelf yet, so I'll put this question out there - should I read them when ADWD comes out or should I wait for the one after that to avoid the frustrations of waiting forever between stories? Opinions?

Just read them !! You know you want to. It will feel SO good !! Don't worry I won't tell your parents. You can be one of the "cool" people, if you just try one !! Don't worry , it will be okay.
