Quest for lost heroes

Just finished this book last night and it was actually quite good. A typical Gemmell ending to a good action packed and decent story. I wouldn't say its his best but it was fun and easy to read. He has a very straight forward no word mincing style of writing.

What did you guys think?

only read it once. won't read it again cos of the rape (i don't read books with rapes again) and that rape has still stuck in my head even now, but i think gemmell did a really good job potraying it from a woman's point of view.

Yes I agree, the whole rape scene was a bit much, maybe he could have gone a different route but then again he wanted to portray the brutal vileness of the Nadir.

im of the belief you don't need rape to show the brutality of people, there are other ways. he did it well, he put her feelings forward very well, which no other writer (even women) have done in my opi9nion, but it was still a bit much for me
