Re: The Tea Room, Mk. IV

No, I haven't downloaded Google Earth again yet, Wyb, because it kept crashing (you all know the state of my comp).

I was looking at my trusty DK atlas, and then I looked up Noosa online and got a really close in map with no markings on it, but I saw the shape that I thought matched Fraser Island in my atlas (and my friends have been to Fraser Island, they almost got eaten by dingos...), which is why I asked.

Yeah, if you don't want to get eaten by dingo's or accidentally run over by 4WD while you are sun baking don't got to Fraser. Fraser is about 4 hrs plus a boat trip from here, Noosa is about 1.5 hrs drive depending on traffic and accidents.

and the mice on show in PC world never impressed me enough
WHAT??? How is this possible??? When I go, there are so many mice with shining, flashing LEDs that I'm lost in a sea of indecision! That's why I always order off the 'net.

Oh, and hello again! I got lost for a while there, but I found my way back.

Google Earth is great. However, I have yet to install it in this lappy because I just use the free version online at Google!

Re: The Tea Room, Mk. IV

Right.

They were probably running people over, actually. They hired a big 4WD which they had great amounts of fun tanking up and down the sand, IIRC.

Uh...accidents? That's...optimistic.

PC World?!?! Noooooooo!! PC World is the Devil!!

Re: The Tea Room, Mk. IV

Well, yeah, I rarely go there, as I said. But when I do go, I go to browse, not buy, because there's nothing better than roaming around a giant store of computer things!!!

But yeah, the people at PC World rarely know what they're talking about. Shame really, they have such lovely purple shirts...

Re: The Tea Room, Mk. IV

ahh but there are 2 good things about PC world:
1) you can get the feel of the mouse in question - and this is important! ( then you buy online 0 at least I would if any of the mice had impressed me!)

2) they tend to have loads of games selling cheap -though you have to check pirces, for they never update them on the boxes - I once went in an picked up £22 pounds worth of games (2 games - one at £2) and when I got to the till both were half price!

OH PC world sounds like Harvey Norman sort of, except that Hardley Normal also sell furniture and white goods and other stuff. They don't know about computers and sell things at an outrageous price.

Re: The Tea Room, Mk. IV

do they also try to sell you insurance on everything
though I must admit on laptops the insurance can pay off ( especially when you brother aims to throw water at you and hits the laptop!!!!!!! that was many years ago -- good old windows 98 as well!

Not completely, mir. I know the games rather than the computers......and only old games at that. *sigh*

Re: The Tea Room, Mk. IV

If I'd had a brother and he'd done that, he'd have suffered my wrath!

Not my lovely laptop!!!! And Win98 - such a great little thing that was!

But PC World is good for software, though I've never found it priced wrong. Thing is, for everything else they're a rip-off!

They're great, Steve! I LOVE computing!
