Spoiler Tags

Do we have or is it possible to add a spoiler function into the tags.

Changing the text colour doesn't work that well.

With a real spoiler tag we could discuss things without fear of spoiling it for others.

If you put it in a quote box and then change the colour, it works very well

But spoiler tags should be very easy to implement, I've seen them on many other boards...

we sort of do
[ spoiler ] [/spoiler]

but its only a colour change - which can still be read (LCD screen)
and you have to know its there to highlight it - a change would be nice

You will probably find it can be done without using javascript.

It can only be read if you really try hard, which presumably you don't want to.

I agree about the fact of having to know it's there. I usually add "Spoiler follows" to make it clear. This script was imported from ASciFi, but it did actually say "Spoiler:" there.

If we had the option of changing the background colour as well as the font colour, maybe something more could be achieved.

Edit:

Why not:-

spoilers follow: {quote}{spoiler}blah blah blah{/spoiler}{/quote}

If you try that you get:

spoilers follow:

blah blah blah

You can't read that and it is obvious.

There's also a very simple way to do it by changing the text colour, and then highlighting it in the same colour:

</table>

Basically makes a table with a single cell, the background colour of which is the same as the font colour.
