What do you like best?

Which of these do you like best.

1.)Two theives who rescue one girl from a slaughter in the city then teach her how to steal. even though it was thief 1 who saved her the girl falls in love with thief 2. so then thief 1 sets thief 2 up and thief 2 gets sent to prison.
Thief 1 pretends to know nothing about what happened to thief 1 and acts the shoulder to cry on. One day they preform a trick which gets them into trouble. And they're forced to go on a journey.

SO its love lorn male, is a friend to girl who is in love with someone else and would do anything for her becoming slightly possesive.

2. Girl laments lost love. Meets the guy who she thinks responsible for his disapperence and chases after him and becomes an unwilling participent in his adventures.

I was thinking that there would be a mistrust that grows into friendship then love relationship, with a streetwise girl who is slightly jaded but still retains some humour, and a man who is at first appearences slightly bonkers. Kind of like chris eccelstons dr who.


3. (the one i'm doing now,) Girl is sold to a brothel, is rescued by an old friend who needs her knowledge of the histories. But he's not supposed to be there as he was told not to by his master. When the boy is with her, he's your normal 23 year old but when he's in the pressance of his master he is cowed, silent and submissive.

The relationship between the boy and his master is one which is a case of. Yes he beats me, but he raised me when my mother abandoned me. The master is a controlling dominating type who does not like disobedience. The boy is a cross between snape and David tennents dr who. (Best way i can describe him.) and when he's with the girl he's a normal guy, but having been raised in seclusion he has little people skills. So he angers the girl by saying he saved her for her talents not because he liked her. Because until then she thought he did it because he was a good hero type guy.

The girl is upset at first and runs away, but is found by a group called the Fanharil fields who instruct her to go back and rescue the boy from the man. So by the way she does it is, questioning the master at every turn and flirting with the boy. She's smart and slightly hypocritical. Hated being lied to but lies to the boy. They eventually fall in love after the master is killed and they spend the next few months on the run. But in the end his past and how he is brought up will ruin their friendship.




4. Boy is expelled from city for rape and cannot see why it was his fault. Ends up at a small village where he meets a singer, who is being forced to preform at the Inn every night. and who is too trusting. he ends up rescuing her from being gang raped, though he gets beat up doing so. And they meet a mage who hires them as helpers on a little mission.





5. Boy wakes up with no memories of who he is or how he got to be in a forest surrounded by the wreak of an Airship and its dead pilot. he is sold to slavers and then rescued by an old man who reconises something in his eyes.

The old man is a sorcerer. And at first you think that he's bought the boy from the slavers out of kindness. And this idea is backed up by him teaching him some of the things he can't remember. It becomes kind of like a father son relationship. Only that the old man is actually quite mad and wants to kill Anwyn. Only problem is that Anwyn is dead. He sees that the boy actually looks like the End-Lord rael and sees him as a way to get his revenge. Picture this as like Lost.




6. Boy lives in a mansion. One day a travelling trope of actors and singers and preformers come to his home looking for his father. They want his support to over throw the government. he offers them a bed for the night. But when he awakes everyone including the slaves are dead save one mysterious women who he escapes with. They wanted his fathers support. His father is very wealthy. And he wouldnt want to join he would let them stay the night because its always custom to give house to a travelling troupe, Who would pay in song and performance. And yes they are revolutionaries in discuise.

The boy in this case is 23. And in his fathers absence the master of the house.

The main relationship would be the one between the mysterious woman and the boy who is dragged across the world by the woman who saved him but won't let him go free. It will be revealed that the woman who is the same age as the boy. Is not the person she says she is. And has been pulled into this mess as payment for a debt.
But the boy learns later on that he has been framed for the murders and can no longer return home or see his father less he be implicated too

You're going to be spending A LOT of time writing whichever of these ideas you decide on... it's your book, so YOU decide. And if you can't, then play with all of them a bit more until a clear winner emerges. You may end up with a whole new set of ideas and circumstances whose possibilities are so interesting that they sustain you through the very long process of writing.
