Assistance requested

I like that idea and i was thinking of making the "opal" character a "reject" who was looking for a place to fit in. The main character is going to be based on me. I'm the kind of person who has friends in just about every clique at school. I need some ideas on how to incorporate that into the story.

So I'm a tad lost. The "opal" character will not have a specail beast, or will they still?

And I suppose many author's do the same, base characters from themselves. It certainly make writing easier I suppose. You specifically know how you'ld react to situations and what have you.

History



It’s been hundreds centuries since the last war between Elves and Fae. The Elves, a race of strong military minded small magic users, where no match for the peaceful high magic using Fae. The Elves had started the war, but the Fae had definitely finished it. When the Elves, being prudent and military minded, found that they were not going to win this war by force they requested a truce. The Fae saw that the Elves truly meant for long lasting peace between the two. So, they requested only one condition, that member of the royal family of the Elves marry a member of the Fae royal family. The royal family members were not the only ones to make matches between the two races. Soon couples of Fae and Elf started showing up every where (soon being several centuries). Generations after that the two races discovered that the descendants of the couples of Fae and Elf where neither wholely Elf nor wholely Fae. So, the two races decided to give a new name to the race of niether Elf nor Fae people. They named them _____________. After generations, the new race decided to open a school. There we other schools around, but none of them seemed to be what the “new race” needed. Some of the schools catered to high magic users and some to lesser magic users. Unfortunately however the “new race” needed something that catered to both high and lesser magic users at the same time. Many “new race” needed a school they could learn both combat and magic.

This is what I have so far but I can't come up with a name for the new race that I have created. I was thinking of calling them Illithrim but I'm not sure.
