Leela

My favorite character from the Doctor Who series in the 1970's was Leela. I was only 13 at that time when I was totally into Dr. Who and I admired her.

Re: Leela

She was a really good companion. Different than the usual Dr. Who traveling companion. I'm only sorry her character didn't stay on in the show longer.

Re: Leela

I liked her too, because she was a strong woman, able to defend herself. And it was funny how Tom Baker was always telling her to stop "killing people". My fave companion has to be the first Romana, Mary Tamm- to me she was the coolest cause she could match wits with the Doctor. I liked Lalla but she was so wishy washy at times.

Sarah Jane smith was okay but she squawked like a chicken at times. My sis and I loved to make fun of her!

Re: Leela

K9 was and is my favourite, although I would have given him a little more irony and sarcasm

Re: Leela

I liked her too but mainly in the books.

Has anyone read a Boucher novel with her in? Superb characterisation. MY favourite Who-novel companion by far

Re: Leela

I liked Leela too, although I'm shallow enough to say it was purely in a sexual sense

Re: Leela

Leela was Tom Baker's companion. I think he was the 4th Doctor?

Re: Leela

My personal favourite was always Sarah Jane. Elizabeth Sladen was the first person I ever had a crush on!!!

However, having grown slightly older and wiser since then I have come to revise my judgement.

1. Susan Foreman
2. Zoe
3. Leela
4. Sarah Jane

Re: Leela

What you mean, a one-eyed cartoon character was once the Doctor's companion??? mmmm.....that explains a lot
