Re: Where did my thread go?

best place to ask is in here: http://www.sffchronicles.co.uk/forum/feedback/
but I just searched your profile (not a mod) and it does not show the thread appearing. So, chances are it might have been lost as a forum glitch. Anything serious enough to warrent deletion would likley have been pmed to you by a mod - so chances are it just got eaten by a wandering beast

Re: Where did my thread go?

I'm afraid it was moderated by our admins, as it seemed to contravene our rules as regards promotion:

Quote:
Promotion:

6. As a general rule, self promotion by new members is frowned upon and will likely be treated as spam. This includes promotion of own non-commercial websites.

Established members are welcome to share their websites/books with other members and facilities may be provided for this.

7. A PHP script is in place to prevent forum spamming. This also means that new members cannot post links until they have reached 15 posts.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is very effective at stopping abuse of the forum by people looking to join simply to advertise affiliate sites.

8. Affiliate links are not welcome – please refrain from posting them.

We are quite vigilant when it comes to one-off posters of spam, and as this was your first and only post at the time, it was deemed unsuitable and removed. Your post would have better been suited to the Press Releases forum; feel free to repost it there. And do continue to contribute to the community - we're a friendly bunch, and always welcoming of new members.

Re: Where did my thread go?

Yep. That's what happened. I happen to be the one who made that decision -- reluctantly, as I'm a fan of Hawkwind, and have no trouble promoting the group; but after chewing it over, it did violate the posting rules as it stood... However, I agree that Press Releases would be the ideal place for it, and would like to see it there, as well as wishing to encourage you to continue contributing to the forums....
