| Destroyer of Words | Re: Song Name Game I don't want to spoil the party, as someone called George might once have said, but this is my mate Lizzy -- Dancing in the Moonlight - Thin Lizzy I used to think I had eclectic tastes, but by comparison with some rays of sunshine around here .... And now it seems the extent of my eclectic taste goes only as far as being able to say that I like each of the Beatles equally |

| Re: Song Name Game Brace yourself... I'm gonna do it... Dancing in the Moonlight - Toploader I was very privileged to grow up with many musical influences around me, my Grandad (Dad's side) was a BIG BIG rock 'n' roll fan, my Dad himself loves Reggae, Queen, Bowie, RatPack, Nat King Cole, Rock, anything 80s, my Mum loves Motown, 70s Pop, 80s alternative and anything mainstream with a bit of Suede thrown in and my Gransh (Mum's dad) loved any thing like Dire Straits and Neil Diamond. I was also lucky to be a child of the 90s which was pushing out everything from pop, indie, britpop, Jungle, Drum 'n' Bass etc... my music collection reflects all of these influences and some I've added myself! |

| Destroyer of Words | Re: Song Name Game I bet Google could help us keep this title going indefinitely ![]() Moonlight Serenade - Glenn Miller Band, unsurprisingly my Mum and Dads' favourites. My family had very staid tastes, but varied in their way. Mum and Dad had the pop songs of their era (including the usual Rogers/Hammerstein/Harte suspects), my sister started shakily enough with an Andy Stewart record but soon cleared the cobwebs with (proper) soul and R&B, graduating to Wagnerian operatics later while my bro -- blues, really, and not much else. I gravitated through pop to prog rock and 20th century classical and jazz, somehow, only later taking a serious interest in classical. |
