| ICE - Who gets Joffery's Sword? Tywin made two sowrds from Ice. One went to Brienne and now is in the custody of UnCat... How ironic. (If I were Brienne, the word I shouted would have surely been "Ice, but then again, Brienne is dense... But then again, GRRM won't let her be dense at this cliffhanger) Anyway, what happens the Joffereys part of Ice now that he's gone? Would they dare bury such valuable Valyrian steel with a man? Or would they pass it on to Tommen? In the end, who will get which sword? Rickon and Bran? Arya? |

I'm sure the other blade was inherited by Tommen. He inherited the crown, the throne, the wife, so why not the sword? Who will get the sword? Arya will get the pointy end. But somehow I think that Sansa's son(s) or Rickon will get the sword. Bran has a claim to Winterfell, but he'll never wield a blade nor father a child... it would be best for him to step aside for Rickon to rule and to breed.

| Re: ICE - Who gets Joffery's Sword? Heh, I was definitely intending to keep beating that dead horse. Thanks, Boaz . It's not like we have a new book in the series to read and pick apart. Let me beat yet another dead horse and say, "Here's to hoping that 2008 is the year we get ADWD!" |

| Re: ICE - Who gets Joffery's Sword? Well, I like Bran and definetly think he has personality (reminds me of that Cheez Whiz jingle...). But that's for another thread. I agree, the other half of Ice went to Tommen (although he may not have been told by his dear family yet). |

| Re: ICE - Who gets Joffery's Sword? (About burying the sword with the man... Like how in Winterfell's crypts each person is buried with a sword. But I guess that may just be a Stark tradition, and I overlooked the fact that it was probably not a good quality fighting sword that each person was buried with... Just a little something to fend of bad spirits) And some people's personality IS having no personality. I know lots of people like that. I guess they are still "real people" .... I guess. |

| Re: ICE - Who gets Joffery's Sword? Right. Ice has presumably been in the hands of the reigning Lord Stark since Aegon's conquest. Ice might be much older than that. Obviously, Ice was the personal sword of Rickard Stark, yet he was buried with a regular sword and Eddard got Ice. |

GRRM foreshadows a lot and the way he talks about Hodar combined with where Bran is and what we assume he is learning.. I think it's going to happen. Why reference him so much and how big he is if that body isn't going to come into play in the future?

| Re: ICE - Who gets Joffery's Sword? If I remember right, Bran has already been inside Hodor at least once. Am I remembering that right? It would definitely be a weird sort of "knight" though. |

Bran did slip into Hodor. I think it was when Sam came up from the cellars of the Nightfort. Hodor was freaked out.

| Re: ICE - Who gets Joffery's Sword? You're not missing anything that GRRM has explicitly written. I like Tyrion as a Targaryen... as much as I like cottage cheese on my pretzels... as much as I like chili powder on my popcorn... as much as I like eating thousand year old eggs... as much as I like listening to Don Ho... as much as I like drinking cranberry lambic... as much as I like watching Big Trouble In Little China... as much as I like to paint 15mm soldiers... as much as I like cheering for the Jayhawks... as much as I think Chuck Berry is the greatest rock'n roller... as much as I like karaoke-ing to Toby Keith songs. None of these things are very popular and it's hard to convince people that those are activities that I actually enjoy. Most people think my tastes need improvement... But in my heart of hearts, I know that they work for me. Most likely I'll win the $200,000,000 lottery before GRRM makes Tyrion a Targ. |
