Even before I first started writing "Chronicles of Empire", the idea of incporating secret codes and messages into the writing often appealed to me.

I haven't actually tried it - but after posting the list of words for "said", I realised that there were enough vowels being represented to form a secret code through dialogue tags (for lack of a better word).

For example, if you edited a work down to dialogue tags, the first letter could represent the message. If that sounded too forced in itself, you could always include lots of "said" but have them around the code, rather than within. And perhaps even use a specific dialogue tag to represent the breaks between words - and if you wanted to be really clever - even have specific dialogue tags for specific punctuation marks.

Anyone any thoughts on the issue? Have you even thought of using code in your own writings - or wish now to actually experiment with it??
