Very little info; how do I find it

I have a friend who has been searching for a book for several years.

Written in the 60's, he thinks.

The main character's wife is named Teal.

One feature is that society is in the nude.

This could be a well-known book, or totally obscure.

My friend runs a museum (our City museum in West Jordan Utah), and is trying to collect originals of various paperbacks.

He just wound up in the hospital. Last Friday they were fighting to save his life; by Monday it was to the point of trying to save his leg and now they've gotten it to saving his foot. He'll be in the hospital for a couple of weeks minimum.

It would be REALLY nice to tell him what that book is, and even better if I can then locate a copy for him.

Sorry for such little to go on, but he isn't lucid enough right now to provide more.

Any leads greatly appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is Ringworld by Larry Niven where the female lead was called Teela Brown.

Thank you. That isn't it; his description had the book staged throughout on Earth.

Still, any pointers appreciated.

I wasnt able to find the book but I did find another person looking for it, hopefully it wasn't your friend who posted it and I'm not sure it'll help at all but I thought I'd mention it just incase the extra info helps you track it down.

Re: Very little info; how do I find it

Thanks one and all.

Yes, that message was the guy I am trying to help.

Part of his entry on Amizon, in case it spurs any memories for anyone here:

Quote:
It takes place on a planet where the government won't allow the people to leave the dome city saying that the air is not breathable. One female character has a name of Teal. They don't wear clothes but wear a think plastic coating to keep them warm. They have a transport system called the Mattel booth. You dial the number you want and you are transported to that location. There are some chimp type creatures that run around in the computer and keep it in repair. The Husband of Teal tries several times to climb up the mountain above the dome but is caught.
Any pointers/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
