Never heard of "soccer". I do believe that, on another continent, they had a game that was called "football" but due to the rules of the game and way it was played it had to be renamed "handball".

The true game of football, as indicated by the name, is and always will be played with the feet.

Any game dominated by Manchester City, by the way, would never degenerate into anything vicious, but alway remain a thing of art and beauty.

Hear hear, Mosaix! Up the Sky-Blues!

Lance - can you reanimate the dead? If so, your sixth millenium game might be considerably enlivened by bringing back Vinnie Jones, ex of the Wimbledon "crazy gang" and (more's the pity) star of a turgid series of films and adverts in which he plays a character remarkably similar to Vinnie Jones, ex of the Wimbledon "crazy gang".

You said you couldn't cure death, but if you can reanimate people like zombies, you aren't going to notice much difference with Vinnie. He's basically a violent thug in shorts. Bring him back, stick a few GUR on him and set him off. You'll make a fortune and you'll get a valuable object lesson into why 21st Century Britain was so dominated by brainless drunks.

Now. What happened to America and Iran?

Re: character info

America entered into an economic down slide somewhere around 2400 and eventual split into several smaller countries before the Galactic United Republic of Earth was formed.. as for Iran you wouldn't even notice it if you flew by today mostly the area that was Iran is now home to a few large food processing plants synth gardens and pretty nice living quarters.

Re: character info

I'm interested in a more vicious version of soccer. Care to elaborate?

Re: character info

'At age fourteen the Galactic United Republic chose me to be in a special military unit and trained me for four years to be the task leader of a Special Forces squad "Nightcappers".'

Unless building robots is very fast, why train someone who is good at *design* to be a special forces leader? To me this char would more likely be being trained to be an 'expedition officer' and annoy the hell out of the genuinely experienced officers SHe is placed in authority over.

Also, in that text, 'nil-port network' isn't immediately meaningful.

Also....one word 'Flaw!'
Char needs one, imo.

cheers,
Stuart

Re: character info

just because you are trained to design something doesnt meant that you have to sit down and do that your whole life. it is possible to alter things on the fly, change the design of something to fit a need not thought of in planning a mission ect... "fluidity"

also dont worry every character has "flaws" even if they arnt evident here

as for the nil-space portals; imagine "stargate" for everyday travel
