Cool Backup - chapter book

Backup is a chapter book that will be released around Halloween of 2008.

The info about the book and how to pre-order is here - ***** There are spoilers for some of the later books in the snippet!

If you want the limited edition copy - order fast! They're almost sold out!

I'll watch for that. But I'll have to go for the trade edition of the book.

Re: Backup - chapter book

This book? It's going to fall around 80 pages.

And - oops! Should've mentioned the spoilers. Sorry - we're nearly to book 10, so the information has been around for a while. Those of us farther along tend to forget that the newbies don't know some of these things yet.

Re: Backup - chapter book

When I first picked them up there were 4 books in the series and Jim had plans for at least 20 then. That plan hasn't changed. 20 case files and a 'big trilogy' at the end as a capstone. He's got a plan!

I read these fast, so it's frustrating waiting a YEAR for the next one!

Heh you gotta admire someone with a clear plan like that.

I hate it when authors leave you hanging. Never knowing if they will write a book next in the series or never again. Dont be coy say i have two books left or i will never write more in the series. The worst is when they say " i might write more in the future "

So his plan is very refereshing and i have to wait only 10 years before the series ends

Re: Backup - chapter book

Yep - just 10 years or so.

Plus - he keeps tossing out all these little short story bits too.

There are a few pieces linked from his website - just some short things. Vignette is one - sort of the 'How Harry met Murphy' story. He's also got 3 short stories from the Dresden-verse in some anthologies: "My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding"; "My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon"; and "Many Bloody Returns" (which is the 2nd one, but took me a bit to find the anthology title - grr) - which are very fun!
