Green Women and MobilePros

Does make one stop and think, don't it.

The Green Women is my latest novella. It has JUST been released and is available at Sam's Dot Publishing.

Lotsa teeth on that cover.

And lots of teeth in the story too, we hope. It's described by the editor as a Celtic Tale of Dark Magic, and I can tell you it is set in the world of Ard Magister and is told entirely from Eithne Manahan's point of view.

I got news of the release today as I was doing a bit of web searching on my break. The web searching was to see if it was possible to get a spare battery for my NEC MobilePro 900c (that I have nicknamed The 900c--okay, it's a joke--graphic novel--movie--never say die bunch of nearly naked guys doing battle with swords? )

At any rate, I can't remember if I told the Saga of the MobilePro. I bought it off Ebay, only when it came time to ship, the seller discovered he could not find it. He apologized and offered me options. Money back, two 880s to replace it or partial refund and one 880 (third option was actually my suggestion--well, the one 880--he offered the partial refund), and I went with the last one.

But I told him that if he found the 900c, to Please get in touch with me and let me make an offer for it before he put it up for sale.

Well, he found it. He offered to trade flat out, but I had already configured the 880 to my needs, so I offered to buy it instead, and he quoted a really low price. Furthermore, when he sent it along, he included something that was not in the auction--a 32 meg CF card AND the USB port sync cable. I sent him a little more than he asked, but hey, fair's fair, and the unit is a gem and I am pleased with it.

So now I have a The 900c at my beck and call when I am writing on the go, and am not forced to carry Toby the Wonder Laptop (my Toshiba Satellite that weighs in at a little over 5 lbs--sorry, not sure of kilo weight). But I have something way less than half Toby's weight--WITH adapter--and a bigger screen than Packy the HP iPAQ, and a keyboard that doesn't suddenly decide--because it is wireless--to wig out on me.

So I am a happy camper.

I have a new toy and I have a new book out.

Cool, to say the least.
