Nakor (A God?) *Spoilers*

Hey, this is my first post here on these forums and I've been an avid reader of Feist over the years starting from Magician and working my way up to Into A Dark Realm.

Since I can't think of anything better to say, I would just like to voice my thoughts.

Nakor found many similarities in his past compared to Ralan Bek with the dreams, voices etc. He later felt that Bek had the presence (a slight touch) of one of the Dark gods of Midkemia or the Dasati.

Hence, I feel that maybe Nakor could also be 'touched by the gods' and the things he does leads me to believe that maybe he could be 'touched' by either Ishap (because he seems to be balanced and not too inclined to either good or evil) or perhaps even the God of Knowledge.

Just my two cents

Welcome, TeKarana and yes, you and I are thinking along the same lines. There has always been something special about Nakor and I've always thought that he ultimately has a greater part to play in the larger scheme of things. I believe he's an incarnation of one of the gods or at least has the spark, just as Ralan Bek does.

Re: Nakor (A God?) *Spoilers*

Yeah I'm about 80% sure that Nakor has been touched by the gods as he is sure that Bek has been touched too. Also, Nakor reveals a lot of his past that hasn't really been talked about much (as a young adult or perhaps younger) and it is in every way similar to Bek's story.

The only thing I'm wandering about is what god (if he is touched by one) is inside Nakor.

Nakor does nave a touch one of the gods, it was mentioned in the Serpent War Saga but which book escapes me at the moment. Think it was either Rage of a Demon King or Shards of a Broken Crown.

I believe he is the avatar of Ishap simply because Ishap is the keeper of knowledge until Wodar-Hospur comes back...or is that Banath? One of the two anyway

Yeah Kalkin/Banath is keeper of knowledge.
I just think he's Ishap because you know how (someone i forgot who) said that Ishap is the Balancer and he balances the sides if Evil is stronger than good or if good is stronger than evil.
I think he is working for the Conclave at the moment to balance them because evil is definitely dominant.

I dunno

He could have shards of both Ishap and Banath, seeing as he is trying to balance the sides and used to have the Codex, as well as being rather like a trickster

Nakor believes there is no magic just stuff, therefore it's possible that he has a part of the lost god of magic inside him (Sarig?) as he doesn't use magic like anyone else on midkemia and magic is very much a part of him more than a tool for him to use?

Nah, Macros is an agent of Sarig.
And also remember when Macros tried to become Sarig. So I highly doubt it.

Re: Nakor (A God?) *Spoilers*

Bek was described as having a spark of the mad god in him, not the god himself, just a bit of his essence, therefore as Nakor was around before Macros became sarig, couldn't it be possible that Nakor also had a part of him?
Has Nakor crossed paths with any of the priests of Ishap? If so then surely a devoted to Ishap would have identified that part of Nakor?
The other option would then be a part of the God of mischief who Pug met at the hall of the Gods (Ban-ath) as nakor is always getting into mischief, or Wodar-hospur as the codex was in his possession for some time.

Ban-ath was the god of mischief who is also named The Cunning Evader. The first time we met Nakor was when he was 'cunningly evading' some gaurds who he had tricked at cards on the way to kesh.

In other words I'd stake my money on any of the gods, if any at all

No Macros almost became Sarig.
It reiterates that at the end of Into A Dark Realm when Macros asks Pug if he remember what happened when he almost became a god.

Macros also killed Maarg with the power of Sarig and also killed himself.
Gathis knew Macros was dead.

Things change, REF changes them as he sees fit.

Isn't Ishap 'dead' as well as Wodar-Hospur? I thought that was explained in the Serpentwar books.
