Soldier Son - New Series

I liked Soldier's Son slow and predictable yes,but Nevare did grow on you and I think there is a reason for Hobb dwelling so much on his progressing from boyhood to manhood that will be revealed in later books.In my copy of Golden Fool Jek and Amber/Fool are discussing the Vestrit family and Althea and Malta are refered to as sisters, that really ticked me off how can someone make such a glaring mistake.

Oh yes, don't you remember Teir, thinking 'what the?' when Fitz comes back to the castle one day all bloody and beaten up? Apparently he had an altercation with some rough's over Hap's behaviour and was tossed in the lock up for a few hours. But this chapter was entirely missing in my version! All I had were some references to something that I clearly did not recall reading about! Thought I was going bonkers for a while there, lol! It was only months later that I picked up the next episode and the bookseller commented on the bad print run of the first book. So I stood in the book shop and read the chapter I'd missed!

Well I wrote whining to the publishers, but I never heard anything back from them. I should probably keep the book in good condition, it might be worth something one day!

No Malta's Althea's niece can't remember Althea's sisters name but they're definetly aunt and niece

My apologies nixie you are quite right. I was looking at a review that obviously did not have its facts straight ..and i think Althea's sister might be called Keffria...

Its ok Teir only picked it up because I read the series straight after each other

there was another error, but a lot less big. teh fool once said his father were two cousins, then later he said they were two brothers!

anyway, i can't get into solderis son. i have kinda quit. and what bothered me a fair bit about fools fate was the althea mention bit. i felt that, because of that, i had to read the liveships, which i didn't like. i also felt that it was included JUST to have yet another happy ending/marriage/kids for some of her characters.
