Happy New Year!

By now, I suspect y'all are partied out, but that's okay...

It's a new year. The old one is gone, and with it, I hope a lot of bad stuff that kept happening.

It had some good moments too.

I sold a novel, a novella and two short stories.

One of those stories just went live on the Helix: A Speculative Fiction Quarterly website. My story, "Drooling Wizards" is a humorous look at what happens when a village loses its idiot and must find a new one. There are mistaken identities, true love, and a lot of other nonsense (and one of my writer's group friends said the story made her want to swallow a lot...).

Helix can be read for free, but it does allow for donations (and those donations help support the authors and the editors and keep the magazine alive).

And I am tickled pink to find myself in with the likes of Selina Rosen and Jane Yolen.

Helix :: A Speculative Fiction Quarterly

Just in case you want to take a peek.

Meanwhile, this is the month that The Green Women should be released by Sam's Dot Publishing.

More on that when I know more.

Re: Happy New Year!

Forgot to add, "Drooling Wizards" is Esther Friesner's fault. It started out as a discussion on her website about visiting the dentist, and degraded into making up names of villages, and when I said she should write the story, she said I should do it instead.

So I did...

I also sold the story to an online magazine that went defunct before my story went online. So here it was, waiting for a chance, and when I learned that Helix was looking for stories, I gave it a try, and Lo! They bought it.

So I am pleased after all these years to finally get it into print, even if it only be Virtual Print.
