| Re: Show us your instrument! ... Stop that, it's silly. Considering it seems easy enough, imo the difference between an average and a good musician is still often what you don't hear. Either way that's part of why I thought I'd get started on it now . |

| Re: Show us your instrument! ... Stop that, it's silly. You just have to always keep one of your hands on the strings, or if you aren't good at that you can get a noise gate. Bass is great fun, I've never played one with the low B string but I bet it makes the chairs move |

![]() Appearances can be deceiving, it looks great, has a great tone quality, is in tune with itself...but not anything else...

| Re: Show us your instrument! ... Stop that, it's silly. Seagull 12 String for me (Nice Collection, Joel). Also have one of the first 1000 Ovations ever made (inherited from my wife's grandfather when he passed). Nothing too exciting, but both have decent sound. |

| Re: Show us your instrument! ... Stop that, it's silly. No, but that was a great looking axe, AE. A minor correction; this is an Ovation Balladeer, serial #1225, and looks to have been made some time around Nov. of 1967. As such, it wasn't one of the first thousand, but close! When you look at it face on, only the head stock reveals that it even is an Ovation (that sort of scalloped sea shell on top of the stock gives it away). It's not a cutaway, and it doesn't have the rosette decoration. Turn it to the side, of course, and the rounded body shows up. Ovation has a pretty decent timeline page included below, and there's another that show's you how to figure out approximately when the guitar was made. Ovation Guitars OK, now that I've bored you all to tears, back to Joel's cool stuff (although I have to agree, Maji; that is a very nice dream... |

Oh, no you didn't!!!!! ![]() Honestly, though... what do you have against the bass? (Think about this: it is nearly impossible to have a band without a bass guitar... which keeps the rhythm going, which is obviously a VERY important element to any song.)
