Christmas Cards from the Dead We've all heard of cards arriving years (sometimes decades) late, but I must admit this is one of the oddest Christmas stories I've yet seen: Cards from heaven have dead man talking - Yahoo! News Title: "Cards from heaven have dead man talking", from AP, datelined Dec. 25, 2007....

Re: Christmas Cards from the Dead Great sense of humour really. Thanks for sharing. When I first saw the thread I thought it might be about authors who are now dead and who had previous Christmas cards/correspondence compiled into a book. Anyone put together a 'Christmas cards/discussions from the past' by SFF authors or other Genres?

Re: Christmas Cards from the Dead Well, there has been The H. P. Lovecraft Christmas Book, which contained his various verse greetings to people over the years -- one of which, incidentally, was "Festival" (a.k.a. "Yule Horror").

Re: Christmas Cards from the Dead The worst thing is you can't pull a prank back on a dead guy. I think that's just adorable that he wanted to make sure his family and friends felt his presence after his death.

Re: Christmas Cards from the Dead Hilarious. What a brilliant idea. I'm sure no-one was offended by this - the amount of planning that went into it just shows how much he thought about his friends and family. I might start working on my own after-death prank.......

Re: Christmas Cards from the Dead Frankly, I think the emotions would be a bit of both -- especially given the character this fellow apparently had; but I think, overall, the gesture would be a positive one...
