Worlds

In the RiftWar Saga by Raymond E. feist, is Kelewan, just another planet in the same universe as Midkemia. Or is it in a completely different universe. If the latter is correct, than surely there would be billions of worlds in each universe. In Magician, Milamber sees the Tsurnari arrive Kelewan, stating that they "survived the destruction of an entire universe," is this the same one that the Midkemians camefrom during the Chaos Wars. Also when he mentions worlds, does he mean actual worlds or different universes

Re: Worlds

Well, to my knowledge, Kelewan is in the same universe as Midkemia, as the rifts they used rip the fabric of time in only their universe, not another. I would also go to say that they are in the same galaxy and are in opposite sides of their respective suns. But you are correct in your assumption that there are billions of planets in each universe. However, the universes are joined to one another like the planes: the universe is a plane. I do not think there are different universes in the same plane of existence, rather like our own existence. I would also say that what Pug says is an overstatement but is considered true in the later books: they did actually conquer one universe by traveling in to the Dasati plane. It would not be the one from where the Midkemians came from as they went into a world inhabited by the Dragon Lords from a world that was to be destroyed by Nalar (i think anyway, got to double check that sometime). And, finally, when he mentions worlds i think it depends on the words before which tell us about worlds or universes. I have also made the assumption that he is going on about worlds when he is going on about universe and vice versa!

And welcome to the Chrons
