i read this series; and it does end well that is all I can tell you; but i didn't realize that the liveship series were part of it; i read the Assassins; then the Fool's; then the liveship; extremely interesting; and very good read even when read out of sequence! Still extremely well reading & its a great book that makes you laugh & makes you cry. this does both & still astonishes you!

As an aside - Tickle, have you read her other series - the Pillars of Creation (or hte world - I get the two titles mixed up)

Pillars of the World, Shadows and Light, and House of Gain - Oh yes, I have. That was good also, but not as good as the Black Jewels Trilogy. But I enjoyed it also.

Have you read the Symphony of Ages series by Elizabeth Haydon??? GREAT STORY ALSO!!!

Well, I certainly did NOT like the ending of fools fate, the parting of the fool and fitz was stupid and annoying and fitz got with molly! Fitz gets jerked around by molly and nettle but still gets back with molly! Its weak! But I would not put it past Robin Hobb to right another fitz book though, since there are still unanswered questions.

No it is not a dark or gritty tale. It is a very good tale. There is some war, sadness, betrayal, you know, the normal human feelings and situations, but there is also love, joy, friendship. The characters are great. A very good series. Try it.
