Riftwar Legacy Just wondering if the Riftwar Legacy novels are as good as the first Riftwar trilogy( series) or if I should skip them and read another set in the Midkemia and Kelewan books? The reason I ask is because when I read the Magician: Master I wasn't as interested in the kelewan part as the Kelewan parts. I'm sure it is more a personal taste thing.

I would recommend that you read all his books in order because for one they're all good books and two you might miss some important bits that may be mentioned in latter books | |

Re: Riftwar Legacy I'm afraid I cannot give you any advice here because they books above are the only ones i haven't read. But I have had good advice from them so I can imagine they are good value as always

Re: Riftwar Legacy No, this is just a tidbit of info I picked up off of one of the REF sites. I've been to a batch of them lately and can't remember offhand where I saw it. Let me do some scouting around and if I can find out anything else, I'll post it.

Re: Riftwar Legacy I wonder about the quality of The Empire Trilogy ? Would you guys who have read it recommend it? I did find Tsurani people very interesting. I think i would like a story set in their world. It isnt the worst books of them all that is. I have no interest in reading the other series. Riftwar is enough for me.

Re: Riftwar Legacy Well i haven't read them yet, but they are held in high regard by the other Feist fans. The quality is said to be excellent...they are definitely not the worst books. In my opinion, that honour goes to: Murder in LaMut

Re: Riftwar Legacy Ah good to know. I read Conn Iggulden in his forums said The Empire series the best of all Feist series. He is one of my fav authors so i thought i should check out that series. Then i saw it was about Tsurani and Kelewan which was even more interesting.

Re: Riftwar Legacy The first and third Riftwar Legacy books are effectively novelisations of two computer games, Betrayal At Krondor and Return To Krondor. As I understand it, the copyright problem with sequels is that the computer game company hold some rights to the series and it would therefore take negotiation with them to get permission to write more books in the series. This is complicated because the original computer game company Sierra went bust and their rights are now owned by another company who don't really know anything about the Krondor games. To be honest, I'm not too disappointed if the series isn't finished because frankly it isn't very good, the computer game origins are apparent in the series-of-quests plot and some elements of the series seem out-of-place in Midkemia (for example, the vampire in Krondor : Tear of the Gods, vampires not being mentioned in any other Riftwar book). I'd say it was the weakest series Feist has written.
