Chris Wooding

I haven't read any of his books yet, but I have a copy of Storm Thief and I read somewhere that some of his books are influenced by anime. I think I read a little bit of The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray. I also heard that he wrote one adult novel. What do you guys think of his books?
