Books you look forward to in 2008

Which books coming out in 2008 do you look forward to most?

Not books you might be interested in but the ones that you really long after.

Dark Blood, John Meaney
House of the Sun, Alastair Reynolds
The Night Sessions, Ken MacLeod

And sorry to sound self-indulgeant, but at Easter I'll be releasing Celebration, an anthology to mark 50 years of the BSFA. It will include original stories from the likes of Brian Aldiss, Christopher Priest, Alastair Reynolds, Stephen Baxter, Pat Cadigan, Ken MacLeod, Tricia Sullivan, Ian R. MacLeod, Ian Watson, Robert Holdstock, Liz Williams, John Meaney, M. John Harrison, Martin Sketchley, Adam Roberts and others... Have to confess, I'm really looking forward to that!

I take it these compare very well to His Dark Materials and the Harry Pottter series?

You'd probably like them. They're books about books and story-telling. I really like the first two (Inkheart & Inkspell) and wish the last would hurry and come out.

I was aware of their existence and the high regard in which Cornelia is held, hence my query.

I presume you are aware New Line Cinema will be releasing the movie Inkheart in 2008?

Yes, yes I am and very much looking forward to the movie too. The books have gorgeous covers, especially the hardback edition. Very rich, lush colours. The first is red and the second blue.

Nice covers those, almost as good as the artwork on Gunslinger and McKean's Sandman Covers......
