Oooh, if only I had the £1,000 for an air fare, £500 for the beer and my family's blessing to bugger off for a couple of weeks.

It ain't going to happen.

£500 for beer! How much were you planning on drinking? :-)

I suspect I may well attend. But I haven't decided yet. A con in October, and then Novacon the following month... feels a bit indulgent :-)

Beer is expensive on your side of the world, no? Here we have it piped into our homes.

You must be getting us confused with a civilised country :-)

And I can't really say Australia is known for its fine beers - I mean, Fosters even produces a lager that already has lime in it!

:-)

Mmm nice alternative if for some reason or the other, I can't make it to fantasycon 2008. I fear butgetwise I'll have to choose between the two. Anyway we'll see thanks for keeping us informed, IanW.

Well I do hope someone goes!

I'd like to hear about Storm Constantine and if there is anything in the pipeline for us to read in the near future.

I intend to register as I probably won't be going to Octocon in Ireland this year again.
And they all are some of my Favorite Authors.

Ian will there anyone taking registrations at Eastercon.

Hi, Dug, Yes, we'll be there in the dealers' room. Well, I will be in any case -- I'm also launching two books. Look forward to seeing you.

Just a quick update -- NewCon 4 is gathering pace!

As well as the Guests (Iain Banks, Ken MacLeod, Storm Constantine and Paul Cornell) and convention chairman Ian Watson, Geoff Ryman, John Clute, Chaz Brenchley, Juliet McKenna, Neil Williamson and Kim Lakin-Smith have all joined up, giving us one heck of a line-up of attending authors!

Re: Iain Banks, Ken MacLeod, Storm Constantine

Managed to wangle another two day con out of the funds so... got my membership and just sent off my hotel booking/money....

I also hope to make it to Fantasycon in September for the Saturday as usual.

Also daughter and I are booked for Eastercon next year, though she is trying to bug me to take her either to Worldcon in Canada or Dragoncon in USA....
