Hang on a minute... (spoilers) I just thought of something that doesn't make sense. Early in the first series (episode 4 I believe), when Hiro from the future travels back and delivers his message to Peter in the subway train to save the cheerleader He says to Peter, "you look different without your scar". BUT! Peter has learnt to heal now because of claire, So why has he got a scar? A mistake? or something else?

(spoilers) Just watched "5 years later" last night, and it certainly raised a number of potential issues - not least, in the future version, Syla had killed Claire, gained regeneration, and therefore survived an attempt to kill him by Hiro. And yet - Claire was still alive in that future, and only later killed by Syla - so he wouldn't have had the regeneration to save himself from a successful attack by Hiro. Or had that future been a logical consequence of events, even if Sila had not been able to kill Claire? And then - the art guy had apparently drawn a future that superceded the future that was lived out, which will help guide Hiro to preventing it from happening... Either way, each episode always leaves me deep in thought, so really looking forward to seeing the last two episodes. |

Re: Hang on a minute... (spoilers) yeah, I do have the feeling that Tim Kring is sort deepening the plot too much. It's still acceptable, but I fear that the explanation in the end will always leave you with you questions now, no matter how well it's thought trough. (By the way Brian, it's Sylar I think. If I remember it right from the subtitles)

Re: Hang on a minute... (spoilers) In "5 years gone", I think the problem is that future Hiro *assumed* a lot of things that didn't actually happen. He assumed Sylar regenerated and was the bomb himself, when it was actually Peter. Sylar survived through other means, and went on to assume a load more whup ass powers that lead him to where he was in "5 years gone". Future Hiro didn't know Claire was alive and assumed that her death was the pivotal part to stopping the bomb, when actually it wasn't. As the future changed, I think Isaac's drawing and painting reflected that change. Moving through time obviously effects the chain of events, so his paintings began to reflect this. Trying desperately not to have spoilers for the rest of the season and season 2 in here to explain all this!!

Re: Hang on a minute... (spoilers) right, that's the answer to the first scar question. Peter didn't save claire in that future so he couldn't heal. Claire did, however, manage to get away. The other thing I guess to note would be that blowing up with the nuke power doesn't kill the person blowing up, guess it radiates out.

Re: Hang on a minute... (spoilers) Peter could have gotten the scar while someone was giving him a power-suppressing drug. Or he could have been knocked out or rendered comatose at the same time as the cut happened, and not had that power kick in because he wasn't thinking about it. Or he could have chosen not to use the power when he was cut, in order to fool someone into thinking he didn't have the power.
