what a nightmare ! oh really what a nightmare , i mean the process of writing , at any stage , if you lose your grip on a thing , you'll lose everything , the first nightmare is the worldbuilding , it's so important , yes i can't agree more , but it's so risky , you have to be careful in every single step here , otherwise mines will tore you up . it's really annoying , you should put your info in professional way , not to be info dump , but how can this be possible ? to put your worldbuilding you need to describe , description is risk , you need to be careful that talking too much is so bad , it's simply info dump , also talking too little is also so bad , it becomes vague to your readers .. what a nightmare , also to be honest with you there is another problem here , readers who like to reread , like to find so huge description which get them into the world by force , they like it , so that;s why they reread , how can i make this whole equation possible ? i'm really out of thinking here.. what do you think ? i think i'm going to be mad soon.. another nightmare too , info dump , this huge monster that lies on my chest , i can't breathe , slowing down the rate of incidents is bad , accelerating it is kinda good , but if i accelerate , how can i bring such huge amounts of incidents in one story ? that's insane.. character based story, i guess , is info dump based story , reader can't read a whole story based on what did this man do in his history and why ? so much talk , so much description , it's info dump.. so i guess action based story is kind of worm safe shore here , but again , how can i bring so many different incidents to make my reader busy in excitement , i really don't know.. what about you here , am i mad person to think of these great threats ? or they are really worth thinking ? salam.. el-saher>>

Re: what a nightmare ! OK, brother. Deep breath. I can see the trap you've fallen in. I've been there. The only advice I can give you is what someone told me a while back when I was going through the same stagnation: Just write. Put your ideas to paper without a care given. If you know your style, and have a narrative for the story in mind, run with it. Run like hell. Perhaps it is because I'm not the kind of writer who can sit down and plot and plan his story that I believe this, but I have always felt there is one thing--and one thing only--of any importance when you are writing a story's first draft: Story! Forget EVERYTHING else, and just write! Get the story out of your head onto a piece of paper, or your computer screen. If you've written before, you'll fall into your rhythm and natural prose instinctively. At least, that's how it works for me. Save your edits, headaches, and worries, for your next draft. And the following draft. And the draft after that. It is in those stages where your story, at least in my experience, transforms from the raw idea you scribbled or speed-typed, into the beautiful work of fiction you really wanted it to become. I really hope this helps, brother. Don't get me wrong; it's a good thing that you worry about your quality. But give what I said a try. Maybe it will work for you.

Once in a Blue Moon... Sometimes, I've woken from a dream with a yell, grabbing for notepad and pen: I cannot claim full 'authorship' for such tales, I just transcribe and edit them. Once in a Blue Moon, I've had a 'rush' and written well first time through. Usually, I research and scribble, re-draft and research until I've nailed down all the loose corners. Then I write and revise, revise, write and revise. I'll re-read every time I open the text-file, often edit as much as I add. I'll shift phrases to&fro, try breaking sentences, try different wording, see how it works when I read it as-if aloud, rather than 'Mind'sEye FastForwards'... And, when I notice something wrong, I'll go back and fix it, again and again and again... Snag comes when an idea runs away. I had a middle chapter do that. I soon had 30,000 wonderful words that took my protagonists far, far away from my carefully crafted plot, developed them beyond its confines. I had to cut the lot. It was not wasted, it might do as a sequel... I went back and re-wrote the earlier part of the story to avoid the diversion. Then one day, I glanced through, realised the re-write was a shabby, horrible, self-indulgent mess... I banged my head on the wall for a fortnight, finally puzzled out a way to salvage the tale. I split the original story in three. I could re-work the first part with an everted scenario, re-use much of my research and a lot of banter. The second part minus my out-take now suited a sequel. The out-take would follow, and cap the arc... So far, so good...
