Come On Hbo !! HI EVERYONE. Been a while but just wanted to ask if anyone has read about HBO dumping ASOIAF? Apparently they have an option for a King Arthur series.... boooorrrrring ARTHUR AND MERLIN AGAIN..................... Has anyone thought about putting together a little petition and bombarding HBO with emails on a specific day????? If we could organise it here we could contact all other ASOIAF sites to join in. PEOPLE POWER STYLE. LETS SEE WHO's INTERESTED

Re: Come On Hbo !! So, a petition to HBO. How geek, Star Trek convention-like. Well, until the strike of the writer's guild is settled, I guess we might not see much movement on any new series. Meanwhile I am enjoying the politics, sex and sin of The Tudors.

Re: Come On Hbo !! Whilst the King Arthur series is a potential problem, ASoIaF is a long way from being dead. In fact if HBO wanted to press ahead with a project at the moment (during the writer's strike) they're more likely to pick ASoIaF because the pilot script is complete and there is much more material available for them to start work on. A representative of a 'rival' fantasy author was going around a few days back telling everyone that ASoIaF had been canned, which turned out to be a load of rubbish.

Re: Come On Hbo !! Wait.....George has a rival? Is this one of those one-sided kinda things....like the Yankees/Red Sox for 60 years? You cant really call it a rivalry if one side is consistently better than the other.... Thats like saying Peanut Butter has a rival for best thing to put on bread....

Re: Come On Hbo !! Sooo....who is it? I read that entire thread that was Werthead linked to and still couldn't figure it out. Terry Goodkind? Is there some reason the name can't be mentioned?

Re: Come On Hbo !! Well, the writer's strike is over. This should allow HBO to get back to work on ASOIAF. I wonder how many current projects they have and how they'll allocate resources to the project.

Re: Come On Hbo !! I am not patient enough to read that whole thread. I just picked on the ame "Jack Whyte," but I see you're pobably talking about Terry Goodind. Who is he, and is he any good? Oh, and is this like one of those Red Sox/Yankees disputes where the fan base cannot be mutual? In other words, suppose I read Terry Goodkind ... would I then be excommnnuicated from the GRRM forum?
