Re: Wrath of a Mad God

Found this on the Crydee site. It says it may be subject to change and is pretty useless but there you go.

A brief synopsis - subject to change The Darkwar has fallen upon the worlds of Kelewan and Midkemia; a time of heroes, trials and destruction. Following their dangerous mission to the realm of the alien Dasati, Magnus and the other members of the Conclave must now find a way to use what they discovered to help save their own people from the wrath of a mad god.

Mmmm, interesting.
I wonder why it says Magnus and the other members of the conclave and not Pug?
Apart from Tal, and maybe Kasper has there been any other possible heroes developed through the other two books? The reason I ask is in the serpent war there was a whole host of 'heroes' who were followed during the build-up and if there is to be war, where are the characters who will defend Midkemia come from, apart from the conclave that is?

Erik, maybe? He is the only one I can think of, apart from the King

OK, I know Eric was made younger by Nakor in Shards of a Broken Crown, but i thought he didn't gain that many years, maybe five? Surely he'd be an old man again by this time?

Re: Wrath of a Mad God

Erik was dieing when Nakor prolonged his life, I don't think he made him younger.

And why Magnus? Pug really hasn't been much of a focus in a series since Magician.

Re: Wrath of a Mad God

Wasn't it said that Magnus was likely to reach a similar magical level to Pug?

Re: Wrath of a Mad God

Magnus was said to gain at least Pug's power so...

Wasn't Magnus on the last one? If so, he could be there to attract new readers as Magnus is a more powerful name than...Pug

Re: Wrath of a Mad God

Sorry about the double post, but i've found evidence to show that Pug isn't going to die in the third Riftwar

What is going to happen with Pug

Pug will always "be around," even if he's not the central character in a narrative.

He will be a major figure in the 5th Riftwar, assuming I stay in business long enough to write the darn thing.

Never thought Pug would die.

What's this stay in business, business?

Re: Wrath of a Mad God

Publishers seem loath to publish his books. That's why the third Darkwar book is being released months after it should be

I'm not sure, I haven't found any definite information. It could be anything

You know, I get the feeling it could be R.E.F himself. To me he comes across in a way that I just don't like. Then he has his Sierra issues and publishers not wanting to publish despite being a best selling author.

Jaire, although I have absolutely no objective data to base it on, I have the same opinion. I don't know what it is about him, but even tho he's written some of my favorite fantasy, I'm not sure I'd enjoy meeting him in person. He just comes across to my vibes as having a bad attitude.
