Re: The 'women' thread

Delvo, shush. I said, from my experience. And I have never, never in my whole entire life met a man that would pass up buying an xbox 360 for socks and underwear.

I guess I'm not allowed to state my perception of my own life experiences because noticing that men and women behave differently is being sexist.

oh, and good job reading the whole quote.

Well, I'm not really looking forward shopping for socks and underwear, though no one will make me happy buying a xbox for me either.

Re: The 'women' thread

A third one who would pass up the chance to buy an Xbox 360. Now if it were a PlayStation product, well, that's a whole different kettle of fish!

I've got more than enough underwear, and I've got about 50 pairs of socks, so what else am I supposed to spend my money on?

Re: The 'women' thread

Well lets put it this way. Many guys will buy toys over necessities, sometimes even over food. Most guys will wear underwear and socks until they are stained, torn, and nothing more than a thread of elastic. Heck, many of the guys I know still wear the same clothes they had in high school--but they have a ton of toys (ranging from electronics to car stuff). No, not ALL guys are like this, but most of the ones I know are.

Xbox, playstation et cetera are a waste of money. Buy a saxaphone or a drumkit instead. Or release your own CD and give it away

If you had a choice between a really awesome saxaphone and eating for two days, you would choose the sax, wouldn't you?

Re: The 'women' thread

Yes I would. Compare the cost of each.

A really awesome sax would cost about as much as a week of amazing meals

See, I don't care about the cost, I'm not going to go hungry for a few days. I'd rather save up the money and eat during that time. I also like to have newer, as in less than a decade old, underwear and socks

And the blah, blah, blah part where I talk about nothing for a thousand paragraphs:

I also notice with guys that unless I specifically take money out ahead of time, they seem to think that any money in the bank is play money, even if its bill money. I don't know why this is, its like guys see money and then think that its miraculously there and not there because checks haven't cleared....thats true for my dad, stepdad, both my ex's and my current man. My mom and step mom agree that this is true for guys. However, this may not be true for all guys, just the ones we know (adding that so I don't get accused of sexism again--god forbid).

On the other hand, I have also known many women who buy totally ridiculous things. My mom, for example, will spend two or three hundred dollars on ONE outfit, even though my step dad makes less money than I do. So, women are not perfect either, but my mom does save up all of her money so she can buy these things. She's weird like that. My bff spends fifty dollars every two weeks getting her nails done, even though she doesn't really need them done. Me, I have to have, and I mean HAVE to HAVE my daily espresso (four dollars) and my cigarettes (four dollars) every day. I can not function without these things. Ridiculous to some people, yes. I will also buy dollies. Shush. I know, I'm all like, not girly. But I love dolls. I would not buy dolls at the sake of not eating or paying the bills. Plus, I say I'm buying them for my daughter...hee hee hee hee hee.

So the pendulum swings both ways.

I'd be buying a saxaphone for my daughter too. Maybe I'll call her Lisa and make her have yellow pointy hair

Re: The 'women' thread

Go do we have any goth girls on the forum?

Yes kids (ok, so basically all of you are older than me, but don't ruin the tone!!), Rane and his girly girl (HA! manly girl?) broke up. Rane is actually feeling fairly good about this though, because said girl was hurting him quite a bit with her frivolous "ignoring" policy... and Rane and the girl broke up before anything happened that someone might regret. As well as still being friends, hopefully.

OK, so I admit that the whole "still be friends" thing is a ridiculous concept, plus a huge cliche, but I think it might work. I mean, we both have pretty much the same friends as each other, so we'll still both be in that group once people work out there's no "bad guy" in the breakup...

Actually feeling remarkably good about it - I can now concentrate on sorting out in my head the crap that's been going on at home since I came to uni, without having the phrase "get out of this you idiot" running round and round in my head blocking everything else out. I'm happy in that it ended in the best possible way it could, given the situation, and it's not still dragging on. A clean end has got to be better that a messy breakup, right?

...

...

right?

Well there is something to be said for a messy break up, her makeup running, smashed plates, a broken window or two, television on the floor, those kind of break ups have their own poetry.

Rane, you can do better than that girl anyways. You need a woman that fits your needs too, not just makes you fit into hers. I didn't say anything before because that would have been rude. But now that you are single, I can say whatever I want. LOL.

Only when the stereotypes are accurate. When they're not, sticking to them anyway equals denying reality.

There's simply no way that could possibly be true. Now you've gone so far with it that you're not even TRYING to be marginally believable.

No, but it becomes so when the claims in question happen to favor one side over the other and be thoroughly false, especially when they're the same ones that many other people like you also recite.
